Well we do live on the ocean.
Thank you for that enlightening piece of information that a lifetime of living in Storybrooke has failed to impart on me.
It seems I've run out of all of my plastic cups.
I believe in you, Mr.Gold.
Thank you, Belle. I wish I had such a faith in something as you seem to have in me.

Do you think that I can change, Belle? After so many years of doing nothing good, how is it possible that I could change?
Everyone can change.
But how? How could someone like me change?
Suspicions || Emma and Mr. Gold
miss-emma-swanrp:
Mr. Gold smiled, slightly. Emma’s reaction indicated to him that she wasn’t just here by chance. She implied that there was a reason, a reason that he might have been able to uncover. The more he looked at her, the more sure he became, that the lingering feeling was more than just that. There was something there.
“I believe that you have a family tie to Storybrooke,” he said, smoothly, without any indication of emotion. “Tell me. What do you know about your mother.” If he was right, there would be no father. At least, nothing more than a client — and there had been many of those.
Emma began to feel uncomfortable under the unrelenting gaze of the mysterious town mayor. She coughed audibly, surprised by the words coming from the mayor’s mouth. Emma had only told August about her mother, and she’d told no one else. The fact that the mayor had known she had family ties, and then questioned about her mother had absolutely blown the blonde’s mind.
“Um, uh well.” Emma stuttered after she realized the mayor had asked her a question. Emma really wasn’t one for talking openly with people she’d only just met. In fact she rarely talks to August about personal things. She’d heard that the mayor wasn’t patient or fond of stupidity and she knew she looked stupid, sitting there trying to come up with something to say to the mayor. But she really had no idea what to say to the man. ”Well, Mr. Mayor. I guess you do know why I’m here.” she stated, finally saying something. ”But the question is, why does it concern you so much if I’m here. I’m sure you have other pressing matters to attend to rather than having lunch with a ‘whore’ as you so eloquently put it.”
Mr. Gold leaned back in the booth, having ascertained that he was correct. Emma Swan was who he thought she was. "I have my reasons, and they are mine," he said lightly. He wasn't about the reveal his hand. The fact that he now knew the truth didn't make him feel any easier.
Emma Swan looked so much like her mother. He supposed that it was fortunate that he couldn't see any of himself in her, otherwise he would have been more worried, but still, the possibility was there, a small unlikely chance.
"I do have better things to do," he said, "and yet I am here." There wasn't much to do for a mayor in a small town, but Mr. Gold had always done more than a usual mayor would. It was part of what allowed him to keep his power and status in the town.

But you don’t understand, it is the things that we have done that do make us bad or good, and also what is inside of us… Some things that I have done cannot be undone and most cannot be atoned.
But others can change the things that they do. Instead of continuing a path of darkness people can..change.
Do you think that I can change, Belle? After so many years of doing nothing good, how is it possible that I could change?
It seems I've run out of all of my plastic cups.
I would hate to hurt you. You’re so good, and I just worry. If you knew the truth, knew all that I have done… I don’t think you’d ever forgive me. I’m sorry.
People do bad things, but it doesn’t mean they can’t be forgiven; it doesn’t make them bad.
But you don't understand, it is the things that we have done that do make us bad or good, and also what is inside of us... Some things that I have done cannot be undone and most cannot be atoned.
The Things We Assume || Mr. Gold & Belle
“The people in and around the brothel may talk; as they always do about every interesting subject known to man in this little town.” She let out a small chuckle as she tried to lighten their talk.If Belle wasn’t hallucinating; she almost would’ve thought that the two were having quite a heartfelt talk together. which the beauty hasn’t had in a long time, well past since her father disappeared. She could have went to Ruby or perhaps Mary-Margaret, but they both seemed quite busy indulged in their own work.
Even the faintest of light touches on her palm made her smile. After hearing much from the citizens of Storybrooke, Mr.Gold doesn’t seem all he was said to be. Perhaps he may have a misunderstood heart that’s a little chipped with darkness; but she was sure that his light was going to shine brighter then his dampened darkness.
Belle smiled as she moved her eyes back down to their hands, and that’s when she realized she had leaned forward a bit from the bed; almost on the very edge. The thought made her chuckle of how she alluringly moved closer to him without her knowing, so she did; she chuckled. She felt herself blush faintly at his compliment, then tugged her bottom lip into her teeth as she met his eyes.
“You have a heart.” The beauty managed to un-grasp her right hand and place it over his chest on the left side. Her eyes followed to her palm that weakly flowed on his suit, her fingertips sensing the soft fabric. “It’s in there..and it always has been..in there.” Belle let her pull go of her bottom lip; her lips now sporting a widened smile.
Her breath silently hitched in her throat as she heard his words. She almost blushed again, then at that moment she truly noticed on how easily she blushed in his presence. His words to her sounded protective, and at that moment she knew that he only wished for her best interests.
“It’s you..Mr.Gold.” Belle smiled as her eyes raveled over his, her dark lashes peering down on her orbs. “You have good in you, but it’s your choice whether to embrace it or deny it.”
It was strange that talking to someone could be this easy. Around Belle, he found no need to guard himself the way he needed to do around everyone else in Storybrooke. He couldn't allow himself to get close to Cora, not with their history. No one truly trusted him, and he didn't trust anyone. He couldn't afford to get close to the whores in the brothel. And many of them he wouldn't want to get close to besides... But Belle... Belle was so different from everyone else.
How was it that she could trust him? How could she just ignore what she heard from the other girls or the whispers that she must have encountered living in Storybrooke her whole life?
Of course he noticed how she edged closer to him. He wanted to close the distance between them, but instead, his well practiced self-restraint kept him from making another mistake with Belle.
As she placed her hand over his heart, breath caught in his throat. Surely Belle could feel how fast his heart was beating. "It's a heart that has been corrupted." And yet, Belle thought that there was good in there. She was smiling as she was touching him. There wasn't a flicker of disgust or contempt the way so many other girls at the brothel looked at him. She showed him no hatred. Even though he was confused and nervous, he couldn't help but feel the slightest smile creep upon his face.
"Belle," he said softly. "I wish I could be the man who you think I am." He looked down. "You make me wish I were a better person." After all that he had done, and all that he knew he would have to keep on doing, he doubted he ever would be half the man that Belle seemed to think that he was.
It seems I've run out of all of my plastic cups.
I hope I don’t disappoint you. For some reason, being around you, I can’t help but wish that I was a better man. My only concern is that I might begin to rub off on you. I would hate to corrupt you.
You won’t disappoint me nor corrupt me.
I would hate to hurt you. You're so good, and I just worry. If you knew the truth, knew all that I have done... I don't think you'd ever forgive me. I'm sorry.
It seems I've run out of all of my plastic cups.
You see what other people can’t see, Belle. I don’t know why you think there’s good in me, but… the fact that you can believe that there is something good… it means so much to me.
Then I’m glad my faith means so much to you. There’s good in everyone, whether they choose to embrace it is entirely up to them.
I hope I don't disappoint you. For some reason, being around you, I can't help but wish that I was a better man. My only concern is that I might begin to rub off on you. I would hate to corrupt you.
It seems I've run out of all of my plastic cups.
You’re probably the only person in Storybrooke who thinks that way. You really aren’t like anyone here.
They don’t see what I see.
You see what other people can't see, Belle. I don't know why you think there's good in me, but... the fact that you can believe that there is something good... it means so much to me.
It seems I've run out of all of my plastic cups.
I do like spending time with you, Belle.
And…I like spending time with you too.
You're probably the only person in Storybrooke who thinks that way. You really aren't like anyone here.
It seems I've run out of all of my plastic cups.
If that is what you really want… I suppose I could stay.
I-I..I mean if you’d like to. I don’t want to be selfish with my time with you.
I do like spending time with you, Belle.
It seems I've run out of all of my plastic cups.
I should probably go.
Do you have to? I would like it much better if you stayed.
If that is what you really want... I suppose I could stay.
After everything you’ve learned about me, after everything I’ve done, why haven’t you given up on me?
I learned a long time ago, that when you find something that’s worth fighting for, you never give up.

It's nearly warm enough to not have to wear a coat. How nice.

Thank you..for your kind words.
I should probably go.
