"Thank you Kamiki-san." "I'm the one who should be thanking you."
"This all happened...because I relied on others."
Unbeelievable [Pit/Rita/Izumo]
There was a few mumbles coming from Pit as his conscious slowly returned, the boy stirring himself awake and sitting into an upright position, a sense of confusion clouding his mind. Blue eyes had attempted to scout the space where he was currently situated in, but even if it had adjusted to the lack of lighting, it was far to dark to distinguish anything or anyone. Where in the world could be and how did he get here? If memory serves right, he was previously doing his job as an officer, not sleeping on the floor in a dingy room.
"H-hello?" he called out as soon as he heard some shuffling, hoping that whom or whatever may be there would respond. That enough would comfort his nerves from the thought of being alone; he never worked well in those situations. Parting lips to speak once again, they were pressed together once words of advice echoed—advice he would definitely need to put into practice.
Those be wise to not awaken the drones in this room. Keep quiet for your own good.
"Drones?" Just what kind of drones? …Then again, nevermind that. More importantly was the fact that he needed to moderate his tone of voice, starting from now. It would probably be for the best not to find out what exactly they were; even with his bow within reach, commencing a battle in complete darkness would only leave him at a disadvantage.
Wings drawing closer to his back, Pit became unnaturally quiet, eyes lowering to the ground as he listened intently for anything else that may be audible.
Darkness.
From having previously been lying on the ground having no memory whatsoever of lying elsewhere that isn’t the bed of her apartment, much less falling asleep on the cold hard floor, after ridding herself of her grogginess of course it would set her off. There isn’t even a difference to opening her eyes in this matter because there’s nothing else to see. Nothing to clue her in on these whereabouts save for others’ shuffling fairly close to her position that she recognizes from hearing.
Then came that voice, presumably coming from a male that was just a few meters away from her, Rita surmised. Great. So she’d fallen asleep somewhere with some guy in the room, and— Well. Of course she’s confused, already woken up in a terrible mood but this gets her even angrier. If she finds out he’d been the one responsible for this, whoever he was…
"Hey! What’s the big idea-" Further words left unspoken as she’d been cut off by the voice of warning. That’s what it supposedly sounded like, anyway. As if voicing out her own thoughts there came another from the male, probably the one she’d heard to have spoken first. Turning her head towards the sound of the voice an irritated sigh escapes her lips as she stands in full now.
"…Guess you probably don’t know where we are either, huh?" Useless. Part of her feels inclined to heed that warning, even though the situation isn’t too far from possible to be a prank, too. It does make her angry, but with this unknown circumstance maybe it really is better to be cautious. Just what the hell was that supposed to mean, anyway? …Drones…
As if to answer her question she feels— hears faint buzzing noises further..north? No, they seemed to be coming from everywhere. Eyes widening when she hears a strong buzzing noise cutting across by her ear, one just by her forehead, and another coming close to her face. Instinctively she backs away, "Agh, get away from me!!" On instinct casting her flames upward as she does. Unbeknownst to her she hits a honeycomb stuck to the ceiling with these flames, causing the sticky goo to drip from above the ceiling and into another girl who’d just been positioned around that same area.
Of course panic would ensue, though this situation wasn't wholly unfamiliar. It was mostly not knowing who'd put her here without her consent that bothered her, obviously they meant harm but she was no stranger to dangerous situations. She could hear light shuffling of feet, she wasn't alone at least but for now she couldn't tell if the others were friendly. She'd chosen to stay quiet for the moment, perhaps they wouldn't notice her presence as a voice spoke about remaining silent lest they wished to awaken these drones. The other two spoke quietly, good to know she wasn't stuck in a room with two idiots...
So much for that, the room was briefly illuminated by fire, presumably from the other girl who'd raised her voice but she too could hear the buzzing noise. Memories of the training camp slowly crept into her mind, she was never fond of bugs. Moments later, due to the brash act of the girl a sticky like substance dripped onto the young Exorcists shoulder.
"W-what is that?" Unable to keep quiet on the matter as the gooey substance stuck to her fingers as she attempted to brush it off. "Stop yelling you're making it worse!" Directed to whoever disturbed whatever it was that caused this stuff to leak onto her. Though by now it seemed they'd already disrupted what they weren't supposed to...great. The buzzing got louder and louder and what she could only guess as bees or wasps swarmed around her and likely the other two as well. An audible yell as she tried to fend the insects off with little success, more dire means of defence were necessary. "Inari, I humbly beseech thee to grant my request!" Wasting no time in summoning one of her familiars Uke, she wasn't about to stand around to be stung to death.
"Cleanse the unhulled rice of the fields and purify the hulled rice, to create eight servings of sacred sake. At the sound of eight tranquil claps grant my plea!" With said claps and after a long recite her familiar turned into a wisp of white to create a bowl like shape where a liquid substance filled it. The bowl then poured the wine onto the surrounding insects, not knowing if they were demonic or not but it was worth a shot. Even if they weren't it would get them off their backs for a few minutes. "Well, don't just stand there do something!" Referring to the other in their presence who'd been the only one to keep relatively quiet.

New Beginnings | OPEN
"Sl-Sleuthhound Quarter..."
Eyes danced as she examined the area around her. Everything was new to her, but nothing looked new. Buildings with cracks in their walls, the street dirtied, barely a pathment to walk upon. It didn’t bother her as such, more that she was worried about tripping over in front of the strangers around her, as she was highly clumsy and thankfully no many knew of this as she was always alone, minus Akihito, whom she spent all her freetime with. Mostly only to practise with. A sigh hit her lips as she knew the chances of meeting him again was extremely small, him being immortal.
But as her mind melted with thought of her old life, the focus she had to stop herself from tripping disappeared. A crack within the path was her undoing. Falling flat upon her face, the paper she held flew in front of her. Desperately reaching to take a hold of it once more, she was stopped. Another had crouched down to retrieve the paper before it flew away with the wind. Eyes meeting, she was unsure what to do, gaining her compose and quickly rising to her feet once more.
There was a strange sense of familiarity as the young Exorcist walked through the streets only to have someone fall over a few steps away. A bush of puffy blonde hair reached her vision as she looked down, and for a split second she could have sworn the girl was Moriyama. There had been a minute sense of relief that someone she knew finally made their appearance in this dimension, alas it faded when on closer inspection she found the girl wasn't who she thought it was. Strange how she felt disappointment at that fact, though she supposed it was better that her classmates didn't end up here.
Without really thinking about it she'd smoothed her skirt down before bending to pick up the loose piece of paper presumably dropped by the clumsy girl, already pegging her as such. "Sleuthhound Quarter ten," she read aloud with the sheet of paper held between slender fingers. Standing back up at full height, crimson oculars met glass adorned ones.
"It's a little ridiculous how much you remind me of someone," and not just in regards to her appearance either. Extending her hand to give back the piece of paper, she wasn't the type to help out others out of kindness, but she supposed she could make a few exceptions. "You're looking for your apartment right? I guess I could show you if you want" she offered a bit indifferently.

Tsumiki Mikan
Are you in constant need of attention?
"No," why would she need it? She wouldn't even want it, it'd make her life and aspirations that much harder. She didn't even know anyone who sought such a thing. "Wanting attention constantly would cause hassle," but she understood giving someone a little attention wasn't a bad thing.
Sakura Oogami, Peko Pekoyama
Would you put on a show to save someone?
She'd managed to hide who she really was, who her connections were and what her goals consisted of. Unlike that gorilla she kept her aspirations close to her and didn't shout them from the rooftops. So to do so again to save someone, then it wouldn't be all that hard especially if that someone was dear to her, like her sister.
"If that's what it took, putting up a false facade is easy" to a point any way, some people started to see through hers if only a little.
Hiyoko Saionji
Is there something you can't do by yourself?
She probably wouldn't like to admit it, who liked to admit that they needed the support of someone else? Of course someone as proud as she was would think such a thing.
"I don't need help with school work or exorcist studies, I've managed so far without leaning on anyone." That's the mentality she'd held for a good few years, but it had subtly changed over time. "But when we fight demons things don't always go to plan and I know now that working as a team is important so...I guess their support during battles is something I need and I can't do it alone...just don't tell anyone I said so!" Not ready to admit such things to the people she was referring to.
Makoto Naegi and Sakura Oogami
Do you believe in your friends? || Would you kill yourself to save your friends?
There was only one friend she trusted and believed in through and through, she always had Izumo's best interests at heart. Though perhaps she'd come to trust her classmates too, Moriyama and Okumura...maybe she could believe in them.
"To some extent, I know they'd have my back if we got into trouble but..." a long pause as that familiar goofy smile crept into her mind and brows creased into a frown. "You never really know a person, not until it matters so it's hard to trust or believe in someone until that time comes." Her answer was ultimately unclear. "But I don't think I could throw my life away for them...I have things I have to do I can't forget that," a seemingly cold-hearted answer and she meant it...well almost. "Doesn't mean I wouldn't try to save them by other means," after all she owed them.
[ outoftsun ] CHAPTER 50! I dunno whats going on 'cause raw and all but it's nice to still see some comic moments even during a pretty serious arc. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY...IZUMO FLASHBACKS omg her little sister is too adorable I'm gonna cry. I'm also presuming the bandaged up person is the same scary lookin' lady from Izumo's dream/flashback? I still kinda wanna punch Shima but I'm hoping he has his reasons. ANY WAY I'll get to perhaps replying to some opens and making one myself in a bit~
Depression
"It’s proof we’re dead. Proof that hell exists. Proof that… you can summon demons. It’s no proof that we can travel between life and death," he said with less fire. After a full minute of starting at the white creatures, he rested his head back down onto his knee. He wasn’t so shocked about demons existing, but the fact she controlled them, that was something else.
Just not the something that could tear his thoughts away from his predicament. "I mean, did you ever think that the reason you’re down here is because you summon these demons? You’ve sold your soul, whether you know it or not." Even if escape was possible—and it wasn’t—the demons would hunt her for life, he was sure. In a way, she was even more trapped than he.
She didn't control them, ordered them to do her will as long as said will remained firm and didn't derail, if it did they'd turn on her. Perhaps that was why there were so few tamers among the Exorcist ranks. "You really are an idiot," she mumbled her words not meant to be heard as it was evident nothing she was saying was even remotely getting through to him. There was only so much explaining could do.
However, he just had to continue to run his mouth about things he didn't comprehend. Hands curled into tight fists, almost ripping the square pieces of paper in her hands. Sold her soul? What sort of made-up drivel was that?
"Don't talk to me about things you don't understand!!" Voice raised and obvious anger upon her features. "You know nothing about me, my world or demons! If anyone is soulless here it's you! Sitting around, crying about your problems and doing nothing to even remotely help yourself!" She continued, not one to hold back her opinions especially when people made presumptions, even if her words were harsh. "So don't you dare preach to me," when he himself was a total mess, he had no right.
"—Ah, yes! I’ll go and get some from the back room." Straightening up her spine at the thunder like tone, the girl was off in a flash to the room she was just in to retrieve the other’s item they had ordered her to get. As quickly as she could, for she could see the condition her customer’s arm was in, Harley grasped the bottle of aloe and rushed back to the counter, placing it on top of the smooth surface. "Would you like for me to apply it on your arm? Or would you rather do it and then pay me? The bottle will be $3.89, please!"
"Do you think I have time to rummage around in my bag to find money?" A brow raised as she lifted her arm towards the girl, "you should know how important it is to treat a wound like this as quickly as possible" suggesting the girl apply the aloe to her wound. Thankfully this place accepted normal money and she could pay for the treatment, it seemed she was still on a lucky streak. Yet, more than anything she was angry with herself for even getting into this mess in the first place.
"I'll pay you after," she clarified incase the other thought she might run off after being treated, she wouldn't do something so lowly as steal. She didn't mean to seem rude, though she often acted this way, she truly was thankful she'd found this place. To lose her arm would mean she'd lose more than just a limb, she'd come too far to have all it crumble away now.
Depression
Use his brain? Use his brain? She was spouting utter nonsense!
"I think you’re crazy. Are you some kind of cultist?" He rose his head, wiped the tear stains away from his cheeks, and glared at her. He was almost about to say that demons didn’t exist, but. Well. Apparently they did. "You don’t have any proof at all! You have nothing to show for your words."
"You asked me to tell you, so I told you," glad to know he'd completely wasted her time. "Isn't the simple fact that we're here proof?" She added as arms crossed tightly over her chest. This is why she never spoke about cram school, demons, familiars none of it, to a normal person. They never understood. Because if something was so different from how they perceived then obviously it was false and she was crazy. Of course she was used to being treated like this, her childhood consisted mostly of the other children calling her a weirdo. She was beyond that now.
"I'm not a cultist! Don't go lumping me with whoever you like!" Now it was her turn to be angry. "I don't care what you think but I'll prove to you, the world isn't so simple..." hands unclenched as she took two pieces of square paper out of her skirt pocket.
"Inari, I humbly beseech thee to grant my request!" A gust of wind and a swirl of white intertwined her body before the forms of two white foxes materialised at her side.
"These are my demon familiars, still think I'm crazy?" She almost sneered, "and don't even think about hurting them!" From his reaction earlier he seemed like some anti-cult fool, not that she had anything to do with cults, so there was a chance he'd lash out at her.
[ ✙ ] - - The Demon & The Exorcist
The sudden shuffling coming from the apartment door had awoken Naoki from his nap, the male previously sprawled on a couch before quickly raising his head, a bit baffled and groggy. Were imps up to their mischievous ways and trying to break in, or was that demanding blonde here to drag him off somewhere again? Whoever it may be, it was best to be prepared and approach said being in a less drowsy state.
Lifting himself upright from his position and off the couch, the half-demon mopes towards the front of the housing, scratching his head tiredly as he made his way there; yellow eyes landing on none of the above but rather at a female he had never seen before. Not only was she standing there gawking at him, but was accompanied by two foxes; their appearance having similarities to demons he had tamed in the past. Yet, at this moment, that was of no importance. The true question and interest lied in how and why exactly was this female here.
Naoki parted his lips to inquire the other, but pressed them once more when she went ahead and shouted her claims. Was the issue of a shirt and lack of top clothing going to be brought up by another lady? Honestly, it was not as if he was harming others for being shirtless. Brushing off those words with a huff, Naoki paid more attention to the next set. Sharing, huh? If memory serves him, there hadn’t been any news about a roommate assigned to the place and after having the apartment to himself for such a long time, it was almost hard to believe he’d now live with someone else.
“Well, I apologize if everything is such a bother to you here… ” he spoke casually, running a hand through his hair while his gaze was scuffed at something else “But if you’re going to keep your eyes hidden, would you rather prefer for me to take you to your room instead?" If his appearance offended her that much, then fulfilling her simple request would be the least he can do.
"Of course it's a bother! Last I checked being dead is very bothersome!" Still with her eyes covered, finding his statement a little ridiculous. Though, she refused to believe they were all actually dead, having to live with someone who didn't know how to clothe himself was just another inconvenience, because being dead was very inconvenient. In honesty she wasn't offended per se, it just seemed highly inappropriate to be around someone half dressed not to mention it was embarrassing. While she stood there, eyes covered her familiars took it upon themselves to snoop about the place, unaware that the boy could see them, normal humans couldn't after all but perhaps they suspected he wasn't so normal and chose to ignore it as he did them.
"What? No!" Immediately removing her hands from her eyes, she couldn't spend her entire time here with eyes concealed. "That wont be necessary, but I should at least get your name if I'm forced to live with you," composing herself better as she didn't want to appear like some sort of blithering idiot. She supposed it could be worse, he seemed pleasant enough, having taken her shouting at him rather well considering.
"Izumo Kamiki," she followed with a slight bow of her head. Several months ago she probably wouldn't have even asked for his name but her classmates rubbed off on her more than she realised. "I don't plan on getting comfortable here and I don't appreciate your lack of clothing but..." a brief pause as brows furrowed. "...Sorry for shouting," her tone making her apology seem less like an apology. Yet, if she was to live here for a while she'd rather not cause any unnecessary conflict.
Depression
"If there was a way out, don’t you think we’d see people coming back to life?" This woman’s anger was only pissing him off—blending with his sorrow to create a unique… sourness.
If there was escape, anyway, who said they’d come back right? Maybe this was how demons BECAME demons. Or maybe they’d be ghosts. Even if everything went well, his gods would never accept him again. To defy death was to defy nature. They would kill him again, surely. Yet the offer was too tempting to pass up. "But I’ll bite. What do you know?"
"We got here didn't we? Use that brain why don't you," sensing the anger which only caused a scoff to come from her, if he was so easily wound up no wonder he was moping around here. In truth she cared little about what happened to anyone else, she wished no ill-will upon them but it was out of her hands if anything were to happen due to them finding an escape.
"It's fairly simple, so try to listen because I'm not repeating myself" she ordered, aware that some of the terminology she was about to use would be unfamiliar. "Demons don't exist in our world, Assiah is the world for humans, Gehenna is the world for demons. However demons can cross over, cause trouble, that's why Exorcists exist. And while it's difficult it is possible for humans to cross over too," perhaps only by those that possessed blood from both species. "My point is, if we can cross between Assiah and Gehenna why should here be any different? If it's not possible for humans then my familiars have a chance," as displeased about it as they would be. "After all this place is called a dimension and it is ruled by a demon lord, put two and two together."
