INTJ vs INTP housemate moment.
(delivery arrives of a huge crate of mandarin oranges from INTP's relatives in the countryside)
INTP: (starts putting newspaper between the mandarins to make sure they don't spoil)
INTJ: (Ni activates) Hey, we're not going to need that. We'll finish them in time.
INTP: You sure about that INTJ? They only last about three weeks before they go soft.
INTJ: Yes, I'm sure. We'll eat them all by then.
INTP: (Ever-critical and questioning Ti rearing its head) How do you know?
INTJ: I just do. (smirks in Ni)
INTP: I'm not convinced.
INTJ: (Te activated) Okay, I'll prove it to you. How many are in this crate?
INTP: The count is not written but it says the content is 7 kg.
INTJ: Throw me one of the mandarins, I'm gonna weigh it.
INTP: ...You think one is enough for an accurate measurement? (Ti and its need for precision and logical correctness rears its head)
INTJ: Fine, give me three, I'll take an average.
INTP: You know, the more you weigh and average the more accurate it will be. (Ti roaring)
INTJ: Yes, I get that INTP, but that's annoying and time-consuming, and an approximation will do just as well. (Te being all about efficiency and what works, rather than about strict logical correctness)
INTJ: (averages the weight of three mandarins) Okay, so one of these is almost perfectly 100 grams. So given there are 7kg of them, let's say there are 70 in the crate.
INTJ: How many do you plan to eat?
INTP: About 0.5 a day. (An extremely Ti answer)
INTJ: So that means you'll eat about 10 in the three weeks, if we round that to about 20 days (Te and those whatever-works approximations again).
INTJ: That means I'll get the other 60, so if I eat three a day for the next three weeks we'll get through them.
INTJ: That's completely doable. I can do that.
INTJ: See, I knew my intuition was right. And the math checks out too. (grins in Ni-Te)
INTP: (still uncertain) ...Okay INTJ, if you say so.... (Ti not being fully convinced until something makes sense to its own internal logic)
INTJ: Look, I saved us at least 10 minutes of inefficiency by removing the need for you to go find packing paper and wrap them and arrange them (Te's need for optimization)
INTJ: You should be thanking me. (INTJ being a mild asshole)
INTP: Whatever, you manage them then, I'm going out to buy cactuses. (Ne already done with this topic)
INTJ: Hey, catch! (Throws the 3 mandarins he used for weighing to INTP)
(Mandarins fly in INTP's general direction but one hits INTP's crotch, one hits a potted plant, and another rolls in a completely opposite direction)
INTJ: (cries in inferior Se) Oops.....
