Can we talk about this for a moment?

I loved this entire episode, but can we talk about this one little detail?  Bitty chose to wear figure skates for what could potentially be his last skate at Faber.  He didn’t wear hockey skates, he wore figure skates.

This small choice shows how Bitty has married his past with his present—and future—and is truly at ease with it all.  The old Dicky and the future Eric coming together to celebrate the present Bitty.

And I just think that’s really beautiful…

My favorite thing about Bitty’s vlogs is that over the years they become FAR less frequent. We go from almost every update starting with a vlog freshman year to less than ten his senior year. As a freshman he finds solace in talking to the internet to feel less alone, but by senior year he has found a family where he feels comfortable and finds himself returning less and less to the vlog as a way to cope because he’s surrounded by people who love him and I’m just :’)

This panel means a lot for a couple reasons.

First being that it makes perfect sense for the O6 to be first on the ice. They were the ones formative to Bitty finding his footing in Samwell those first years. They were the ones whom Bitty and Jack came out to first. And they were the ones who helped us to get invested in the story when we first got started.

However, it also says a lot that the Frogs are also present. It's notable that, despite not starting Samwell until Y2, they have been present in all four years. Chowder brought an exuberance that enamored Bitty, and he was the one Jack gave dibs to. Nursey had the Andover connection with added layers of complexity and was the one willing to play ball with Bitty's social media from the start. And Dex showed such growth from being unsure about Samwell to being a kitchen prodigy and finally getting the captaincy. It stood to reason that they were the second group that Bitty and Jack came out to... and that they would be included in this momentous occasion.

These are our bros, and that's 'swawesome.
