MCC WRITING EVENT

What is this event?

This is a MCC-inspired writers event, where 40 players will be split into 10 teams of 4! Each week, for 8 weeks, you will get a prompt based on a MCC minigame that you have 7 days to write!

Is this officially affiliated with MCC?

No. Noxcrew don't sue pls

Can I draw/webweave/record podfics/make moodboards for this event?

No. You can create any of the above to go along with your fics as a little add-on/additonal content, but it will not grant you any extra points. This is an event for *only* writing!

Can I write poetry for this event?

Yes!

What if I don't make a fic for the prompt for a week?

There is no penalty, you just won't get any points.

What if I can't make a fic for a certain week?

If you know you won't be able to make a fic for a certain prompt, contact a mod and we will find a sub-in for you!

What if I have to drop out entirely?

A sub-in will take your place for the rest of the event!

Will teams be based on fandoms?

Nope! They'll be balanced similar to how the actual teams are balanced - heavy hitters will be evenly distributed!

Does our writing have to be MCC based/inspired?

Nope! The only thing MCC-related in this event is the server/prompt themeing - your writing doesn't have to be at all inspired by MCC itself

Can we only write for MCYT's who have been in MCC?

Nope! Anyone is free game

...does it even have to be MCYT?

Nope! Any fandom is allowed, but since it *is* MCC themed, this is being promoted as a MCYT event. But at the end of the day, you can write for any fandom!

Are crossovers allowed?

Yes!

You must be 13+ to participate. You must be 16+ to be a mod. You must have a Discord and AO3 to participate

January 24th - January 30th — writing period for prompt two

January 31st - February 6th — writing period for prompt three

February 7th - February 13th — writing period for prompt four

February 14th - February 20th — break period

February 21st -February 27th — writing period for prompt five

February 28th - March 6th — writing period for prompt six

March 7th - March 13th — writing period for prompt seven

March 14th - March 20th — writing period for prompt eight

March 27th — winner is announced

maybe!! but if it does, it wont be for a long while. ive come to realise that i am not exactly in the right mental headspace to run an event, even if it is a comparably smaller one like this. especially in the last 2 weeks, ive barely been scraping by on mod duties because my mental health has genuinely been in the gutter :/ but maybe if i get better, ill go for round two. i have a couple ideas on how to improve the event if it runs again!

Hello all! Due to a few circumstances out of anyone's control, we are in need of pinch-hitters!

Specifically, we need one person to fill in for a team who had a member who needed to drop out!

Additionally, we need week-by-week sub-ins! This is someone who, if somebody cannot complete their prompt for the week, you will be notified, and have the option to fill in for that single week! You will NOT be competing full time!
