“in all my life, I never thought I would be so lucky as to fall in love with my best friend”
Colin: there's no way I'll marry Penelope Featherington. Never in your wildest dreams. I see her like a sister and a friend.
Also Colin: takes a deep breath and stares at Pen like he's looking at the most beautiful woman on earth every time he enters a room.

ICONIC INLAWS
Okay but can we talk for a second about FP’s face in these? Betty comes up to this man she’s only met ONCE –
once, when he failed to show up when Jughead was falsely arrested by Keller, and ends up flat out drunk and angry about what they’re doing to his son, breaking down and admitting he wants to be a better man, but also tells his son he’s better off without him.
Betty goes to FP, who’s turning his life around and she begs him to attend Jughead’s birthday because she saw what happened earlier, she saw how it hurt Jughead what FP was doing (and not doing).
So there he is, looking down at this teenage girl dating his son, in audacity to show up at his workplace and beg him, with sugar and spice and everything nice and big, cute eyes, “come to Jug’s birthday” because she wants her boyfriend to feel special.
So here’s FP Jones, Southside Serpent, recovering alcoholic, single father, in grungy clothes from the wrong side of the tracks, from Riverdale, where the people treat the Jones’ like dirt (”chew us up and spit us out”), raising his eyebrow at Betty Cooper.
And she’s said her spiel, she’s done, just looking at him, and in the last fit, he just… melts and smiles at her, but it’s not just a smile of “hey, ok, let’s do this” and also a bit of a smirk, a conspirators’ smile, a naughty one that goes, “I’m in, secrets are fun” (because they’re practically his livelihood).
I can just imagine he looked at Jughead and Jellybean that way when they did something particularly amusing that he was proud of. Sigh.
I have a lot of feels about FP Jones.
He is not the sun. You are.
