I’m currently wrapping up Week 12 and haven’t updated since Week 6. Oops. Here are week by week updates. Week 10 was my low point of training, I missed two runs and just wanted nothing to do with training for a marathon. Eventually I kicked my ass back in gear and my last week and a half of training has probably been some of my best yet.
Day 2: 5 mile tempo @ 5:53 (2 mile warmup)
Day 3: My first missed workout of training. I pushed back my earlier runs and never was able to make it up.
Day 2: 5 mile tempo @ 5:53 (2 mile warmup)
Day 4: 15 @ 7:13 This was done on the treadmill and was supposed to be 20, I was absolutely miserabe. I had not run indoors in 7-8 months and my body wasn’t prepared for the change in air/temperature.
This was a disaster. I finished week 10 with zero desire to continue training. Long runs were just completely unappealing to me. I was over it. And the fact that this is the best my training has been going to this point didn’t matter. I was set on completing this Boston Marathon and being done with marathons.
Day 1: I missed my 11 miler due to my nephew having a rough day and me hanging out with him. Planned on bumping it back a day and it just didn’t work out.
Day 2: 4 x 1600---> 5:26-5:28-5:28-5:29. 800 recovery in between with 3 miles split between warmup/cooldown.
Day 3: Missed my 10 miler
Day 4: Cut my 16 miler back to 10 @ 7:02
Day 1: Forced to run on the treadmill. The 10 miler was stopped at 4.5 because of my lack of desire to continue training stemming from week 10. Not feeling distance and then being forced onto a treadmill is never fun.
Day 2: 9 @ 7:01 pace. This was supposed to be my workout but I swapped days out because I still needed to get my head straight before attempting a 6 mile tempo.
Day 3: 6 tempo miles @ 5:54. I decided before this run I was going to stop being a whiny bitch. It worked.
Day 4: 20 miles @ 7:04....7:09 for the first 10, 6:59 for the back 10. This was the day after the 6 mile tempo (my quads were burning). The hell that was week 10 and part of week 11 was over.
Day 1: 10 @ 6:53 with ease
Day 2: 9 @ 6:51 with ease
Day 3: 10 @ 6:41 with somewhat ease. Probably ran this a bit harder than I should have but I felt great so no complaints from me.
