I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going.

why do people act like getting a job is so easy it’s literally the hardest thing on earth
It really isn’t that difficult if you put forth your best effort.

If you work for it, it will come to you. But don’t expect the waiting game to reward you by simply dropping opportunities in your lap.

no shade but shut the fuck up
reading my own writing: boy, you sure like your commas, don’t you,
About a year and a half ago, I was speaking with an old colleague of mine, and we were sharing causes and communities we’re passionate about. They listed one cause and community, a very meaningful one that I very much respect, and when I shared mine, it was a list of about four or five. My list went something like this: women, women and people of color, LGBTQ communities, Latinx communities, immigrants. This person said to me: “You know, you should really try not to wear so many hats for so many communities, it could really dilute your message.” I wasn’t really sure what to say. Wearing hats? Dilute my message? You mean my message of love? Of equality for all? A message reminding people that inclusion in LGBTQ spaces doesn’t just look like lots of different faces, but includes training every person in that organization to be culturally competent because there’s no one way to be LGBTQ? That message? For equal opportunity and pay for all? For equal access to education, housing and healthcare for all? That message?

Small victories in life. You don’t have to write three papers and climb a mountain while memorizing the periodic table for it to be a good day.
I haven’t been able to draw for a bit, so please enjoy this drawing from before! Thank you for supporting my art as always! I have been really busy starting a new semester of school, working on all my classes, and organizing clubs, but I will be back to drawing soon. :D

BALANCE CHALLENGE
My mom and I still say this all the time.
I like to write and draw and paint, and my mom’s an artist, so I think I get caught up in thinking, ‘I’m afraid it’s gonna be bad,’ and it’s hard for me to start sometimes.
The official trailer for Hidden Figures is here!
HIDDEN FIGURES is the incredible untold story of Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe)—brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.
