Titania and Puck with Fairies Dancing - William Blake, 1786
evil dan and phil
okay i need to break this apart in context with the other translations because this is an incredibly deft and incisive translation. i've adjusted a few of the the line breaks of the earlier translations a bit to line up with this one.
Queen! Belt out a banger of a turnmaxing moid
Sing to me of the man, Muse, the man of twists and turns
Tell me about a complicated man. Muse, [...]
who highkey through savage sidequests toughed it
driven time and again off course, [...]
tell me how he wandered and was lost
after chopping Troy-town to dogfood deadass
once he had plundered the hallowed heights of Troy.
when he had wrecked the holy town of Troy,
Sailed through sick storms and dealt with dramas
Many cities of men he saw and learned their minds many pains he suffered, heartsick on the open sea,
and where he went, and who he met, the pain he suffered in the storms at sea, and how
Locked in to lead his fam to a homey safe space
fighting to save his life and bring his comrades home.
he worked to save his life and bring his men back home.
Talk of the trips and trenches, the sus opps he faced how the GOAT cooked and vibed with the randos though he lowkey took the L on that mission when his bros
But he could not save them from disaster, hard as he strove – the recklessness of their own ways destroyed them all,
He failed to keep them safe; poor fools,
Like NPCS blundered badly to beef with the big G
the blind fools, they devoured the cattle of the Sun
they ate the Sun God’s cattle, and the god
and got ghosted, permablocked, cooked completely.
and the Sungod blotted out the day of their return. . . .
kept them from home. . . .

oh really? well in the pursuit of laura palmer’s killer I have employed bureau guidelines, deductive technique, tibetan method, instinct, and luck—
the phrase really should be "eat your cake and have it too" im with the unabomber on this one
i got a fucking. advertisement on youtube. from google ai. saying. without sarcasm and with complete sincerity. "if shakespeare is too hard for you, you can always have our ai explain it to you." im gonna throw up. im gonna throw a molotov cocktail. if i see that ad again im reporting it for hate speech. how fucking dare you. i will kill you with my bare hands. with my exit pursued by a bear hands. i will tear google headquarters down brick by brick. im going to start biting people.
I have a feeling that this has been done before but oh well
on usefulness. on becoming both the blade and the lamb

― Terry Pratchett, The Wee Free Men
actually such an insult to put the terry pratchett painting there in the end he would NOT fucking write that
so who read "Because, underneath it all, Crowley was an optimist. If there was one rock-hard certainty that had sustained him through the bad times—he thought briefly of the fourteenth century—then it was utter surety that he would come out on top; that the universe would look after him." and thought
yes
annihilating that entire universe and character/s from existence is what Terry wanted
no, yk what, still on this because I can think of very little that feels less like Terry than to decide to scrap the whole universe and start from scrach to “do it better”
anyone else feel a blood clot forming somewhere in their brain when crowley asked 'did i say the wrong thing'
knowing how it tends to go with male authors and their wives it was probably marge who wrote the odyssey
