THE NIGHT SHIFT SHE HAD gave her a hell of a headache and yet, elena has things to do in the town before even thinking of going back home. however, the young doctor feels like curling up on a bench and sleep for a whole day, that’s how tired she is, which means she needs to buy a coffee before dropping dead in the middle of the street. that would be awkward. with the handsfree bluetooth on, playing one of her favorite songs, elena walks inside the shop, texting damon to let him know she’d be late, while humming softly. she orders quickly and while waiting, elena looks around, hoping she could find a free table — no luck, however, but she does see someone who is alone, which leads her there once she gets her hands on the holy coffee. ‘ hey, sorry to bother, but since all the other tables are full, would you mind sharing this one ?? ’ she asks, smiling a little.
“How am I supposed to answer that, sugar? With a no? It’s clear I don’t want to share a table or else I wouldn’t have occupied the other seat with a tea mug and two pencils, you just made a rethorical sweet question because it would be too socially incorrect of me not to give you a seat in my table where the whole place is full.” He raised cold calculative eyes from the device he has ben working on, baggy eyes high on coffee and whisky finally giving a look to the speaker and doing a double take, as if actually looking at her for the first time.
“On second thought, you throw the pencils to the ground and take a seat, I mean, it looks like a good idea, out of all the idiots who can come bother me today you might be the least unpleasant face to have around asking me if what I’m doing is not dangerous. What do you say? Sounds like a reasonable idea, doesn’t it?” He talked quite quickly, in a rush like a man who was used to give a 200% 24/7.
