Candy Cruz was not a hero. It simply just wasn’t on her agenda. Manipulations only got a girl so far. If it was up to her; she would be setting at the corner of her desk, enjoying her life as a forensic scientist.

It is unfortunate souls like Candy who always get the worst end of the stick. She was born to Bethany and Nathaniel Cruz; two prior top agents at S.H.I.E.L.D. They spent the greatest fifteen years of their lives as a perfect family — but, that was prior to when death greeted her parents, whisking them away from her when they got assassinated by agents working for HYDRA. Ever since, Candy was left as a mere, lost orphan at the tinder age of fifteen, and she vowed to herself to destroy whoever killed her beloved parents.

Nevertheless, It wasn’t until, one of her father’s old friends who goes by the name Nick Fury, noticed the brunette; he welcomed Candy into S.H.I.E.L.D. with open arms, encouraging her to get trained til she can initiate physical strength, so that she can be capable of complex maneuvers, and help her become the strong, intelligent woman her parents always aspired her to be. Later on, Candy figured out that Nick Fury did not only encourage her just because of her parents’ wishes, but also because of her adapting a highly intelligent brain, which had been confirmed by numerous of tests that they put her through. Concluding from the tests: that her intelligence level was off the normal scale; for she was twice as smart than a normal human being should be. 

At the age of Twenty-seven, Candy Cruz was pronounced an official S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Few years later, when Candy accepts to go on a specific mission, she didn’t acknowledge the risk she’s putting herself up to.
