Understand that this applies even to non-sexual situations. Women are more likely to be asked for favors from coworkers. Regular “can you file this for me” / “can you cover my shift” / “can you finish up this paperwork” workplace favors. Men are less likely to return those favors. Women are more likely to be seen as “difficult to work with” if they refuse to do favors when requested. Being viewed as ungenerous has negative social and professional consequences.

So yes, even gay men benefit. All men benefit from women’s reinforced fear of being hurt, not just physically, but also socially and professionally, for saying no to anything at all.

Gymternet Secret Santa

It’s November so time for gymternet secret santa! It will be basically the same as every other year, and for those of you who are new to the gymternet, this is a great way to make a couple of new friends!

To sign up, you need to reblog this post. You have until 10pm on the 26th of November GMT to do so. Then I will randomly assign everyone a URL and message you who you have at some point before the end of November. Every day from December 1 - December 25 you will message your person on anon something nice to brighten their day (so it goes to their inbox, not the messaging system). Feel free to go the extra mile and make blogs for them etc as some people have before.

Pretty much the only rules are:

- you need to have your ask box turned on so the person who has you can actually message you

Jordan Bowers looks so high key bummed right now, and just hugged her coach for like a half hour, idk if she’s like in pain or something. She’s at bars with her rotation and cheering everyone on but doesn’t have grips on and isn’t chalking. Don’t want to be ALARMING or like “WILL SHE COMPETE?!?!” but just letting y’all know that something isn’t right.

Okay, so after getting more information on this situation I think everyone needs to sit the hell down.

Morgan said something pretty shitty about Simone being the face of the entire classic. And yes it’s true that USAG is marketing off of Simone’s popularity. (hense, “Don’t hate the player, hate the game”) And no, I don’t agree with it.

Y'all all said Simone could’ve handled it better, which is true. But so could’ve Morgan. If she wanted to make a post about feeling unacknowledged, she could’ve said, “Sucks that USAG is only focused on Simone now that she’s come back, we matter too.”

That would’ve brought up the HUGE issue of them playing Biles’ routines twice and barely talking about anyone else. But instead she lashed at Simone (in private, but she still did it) and made it seem like it was Simone’s fault that she was the face of the comp. Like of course they’re gonna use her. She went pro and is WIDELY popular now. There was no other gymnast there with a track record that even looks like 2013 Simone! Period. Still don’t agree with it, but marketing is marketing. And it’s so shitty that they didn’t even put Morgan in the promo vid.

Simone was upset about the post and handled it like ANY OTHER 21 YEAR OLD GIRL WOULD. Idk why y'all acting like Simone is as old as your parents. She’s just been around so long that y'all are pretending like she’s older than she is. Who cares if she’s immature when it comes to drama from someone she thought would never say something like that. And the comment literally is about Simone. Like no one else fits that  caption.

The situation was shitty. And it’ll blow over like all the other gym drama. Y'all make it bigger than what it needs to be.

TL,DR: We need to address USAG’s shitty marketing behavior, leave these girls alone, and let them handle their harmless drama on their own
