Finally got these two off to the foundry! This has been a fun and amazing project from start to finish (and not all of the stations are in yet), but at least I can breathe easier knowing this phase of my CA Parks project is over! I can’t wait to see my sculptures in bronze and installed in the #bigtreesstatepark Three Senses Trail for the blind & visually impaired in a few months! MCT3D has been busy! This is one of the big projects I have been working on for the State of California and the Lions Club of Arnold, CA. He is 99% done and about to be bronzed. So, as a graphic designer, your dream is to have your work not only be where someone will see it, but will also mean something. This is the sign I designed for the CA Parks Big Trees 3 Senses trail for the blind and visually impaired. There was a bit of a time crunch, so this is the “temporary “ sign, the one with the relief map and braille couldn’t be made in time for the ceremony on Saturday. BIG Shoutout to Dave and Dennis, two badass signmakers that saved this girl’s behind. 😏 I’m just so excited to see years of school and hard work pay off and only wish my mom could be here to see it. Which, in a way, I know she is. It ain’t glamorous, but graphic design pays the bills. Actually, credit goes to original artist. Finally settling down after our move back to NorCal and thought I would let everyone know what I was up to. I am honored to be commissioned as THE designer for a trail made specifically for the blind by the Big Trees CA State Park and Arnold Lions Club! I am learning a lot with this project and am working with a local braille printer for the braille relief map draft shown here (printer is putting all text in standard braille for me). I am also designing the kiosk, stations, and there will be 3 of my sculptures in the park! I should be posting more regularly now that my life isn’t so crazy. Still crazy, just good crazy.
