Welcome to me and make, a blog dedicated to Australian and International design. I am Miranda; I run a design studio called make interiors. I travel frequently, attend trade fairs and exhibitions, visit fabric houses, showrooms, and retail outlets. I absorb new ideas through colour, materials and products translating them to my work. My design work is simple and clean, using white, grey and black with hints of colour, combining rustic and raw textures with contemporary Australian style. I value design and style and my aim is to create a space online for those who want to visualise creativity everyday.

Make Interiors came across the company 'QueenSo' at Design, Made Trade in Melbourne a few weeks ago. QueenSo is based in Adelaide, if you are looking for a letterbox the LetaHaus is perfect. Designed to Australian post standards the LetaHaus combines functionality and design. Lovely work Demelza N....

Vivid 2013

Australia’s longest running design competition VIVID (Vibrant Visions in Design) is a showcase for new and emerging designers. Vivid was held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from the 18th – 21st July 2013. We are always looking for up and coming Australian designers to support and specify new products. Lighting was a standout for us this year…. this was some of our favourites.

1. Hugh Altschwager and the flash light pendant, constructed from South Australian limestone with reclaimed hardwood. Have a look at his website for more beautiful, handcrafted lighting. http://www.inkstermaken.com/

Nick Sadowsky Design Spindent light Make Interiors loved this light, its simple and clean design. Combination of materials including aluminium FSC certified oak. You can specific the light in a black or aluminium. We will definitely keep our eye on Nicks future designs. http://www.nicksadowsky.com/ 

Jack Flanagan & Callum Campbell The grain stool made from sand cast aluminium seat and Tasmanian oak legs, is the perfect combination, simple & practical.
