Getting Covid is a great reason to redownload tumblr
I saw something that was like “we put our lives on pause, but getting vaccinated can help us be able to hit play again” and it just bothered me because I’m not just starting again where I left off. I graduated from college in spring of 2020. I’m never going back to living there and regularly seeing my college friends. I’m never getting my graduation ceremony. I’m not getting my last months of college back. They’re gone!
So anyway this post is dedicated to anybody who went through any transitional period during the pandemic. Whether you graduated, lost somebody, moved, or anything else where you will never truly be able to get the last months/year of [whatever] back. It’s so easy to feel like you should be over it by now and just be grateful whenever you can eat in a restaurant and go into stores again but you lost more than that.
I’m just tired of seeing so many things about “going back to normal” when a lot of us don’t have the same “normal” to go back to.
gender can change but eldest daughter syndrome is forever
Worship online with a church BY & FOR LGBTQ persons! April 11′s theme is “Good is the body”
Just wanted to get the word out in advance so folks can put it in their schedules: I’m preaching at my friend’s Queer Church this coming Sunday! The sermon + the whole service is going to center around celebrating how God made all of us Good, in the diversity of all our different bodies.
i’ll be focusing on disabled bodies & transgender bodies in particular:
John 20 shows us how Jesus rose from the grave with his physical body – and not only that, but with a disabled physical body. The risen Christ, who is perfect and whole, bears impairing wounds! This shows us that embodiment is part of wholeness, and that disability is not incompatible with wholeness.
John 20 can also be highly resonant for transgender persons, who often make changes to our bodies. Some call those changes sinful, but Jesus’s own trans-resonant story shows us otherwise.
I’ll also be throwing a trans reading of Genesis 2, the creation of the first human and the surgery that splits them into two humans, into the mix B)
The service is at 3pm EST on April 11, 2021 – here’s the link to Queer Church’s Facebook page, where the service will be livestreamed then.
what's the tour montarvaprpawrqr or whatever french shit that word is?
ok im gonna infodump about fucked up buildings for a second so this is probably gonna be long
tour montparnasse in paris is my least favourite building in the entire world and i am slightly obsessed with it just bc of how much it sucks. its an office building and if you saw it from up close you might think ok this is a building. like its a little bland but theres nothing special about it
but then you zoom out a little
wow!!! what the fuck. that is so ugly. it literally looks like someone jammed a tv remote into the earth and i hate it so much. also this is paris so this monstrosity is within BLOCKS of the eiffel tower and just completely destroys the view. its so evil that there is now an 8 storey building limit in the area to prevent anything this criminal from happening again
some other shitty buildings i like include marina city chicago aka the corn cob buildings, which were designed with the idea in mind of a building with no right angles since ‘right angles do not appear in nature’
and rainier tower in seattle, which honestly just makes me anxious
but my FAVOURITE shitty building is part of the sydney university of technology (uts) campus
not just because it looks like someone made a building out of wet cardboard, but because the original design sketch is a work of art and it makes me cry laughing every time i look at it
behold
fucking impeccable. thank u for listening
I swear how do I know ZERO celebrities. You guys always talk about famous people and I have no idea who the hell you’re talking about but then it turns out they’re the most well known and liked person on earth right now
because all u do is watch phineas and ferb
They sent Candace to the moon the other day.
i’d like to make it clear that being well-read and having dumb bitch energy aren’t mutually exclusive. can i give you an in-depth analysis of an academic article? yeah. am i still a dumb bitch? yeah and proud
i don’t like the idea of covid just kind of gradually fading as a concern and life slowly returning to normal… i want there to be a specific day that is the End of Covid, some kind of orgastic festival with drugs, dancing, and giant bonfires

James acaster is the only cis person allowed to talk about trans people
[video description: a tiktok video by dragqueenworld, of a screen recording of james acaster on stage performing his show Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999. James is a tall white guy, with curly auburn hair, wearing a multicoloured bomber jacket, black jeans, white trainers and dark sunglasses]
Transcription:
James: Edgy comedians, and i can understand you concern, most edgy comedians look like me, race and gender-wise. they say whatever they like. Edgy comedians, no one tells them what they can and can’t say. They walk striaght on stage, top of their specials sometimes, do 10 straight minutes of slagging of transgender people. Just straight out the gate, making fun of transgender people and if people on the internet get upset about it, the comedians are always like:
*exaggerated voice* BAD LUCK! That’s my job! I’m a stand up comedian! I’m meant to challenge people! If you don’t like being challenged, don’t watch my shows! What’s the matter guys? Too CHALLENGING for ya? That’s my job. I’m a stand up comedian, i’m mean to challenge people. If you don’t like being challenged, don’t watch my shows!
*sarcastic* Oh yeah, cause you know who’s been long overdue a challenge? The trans community.
audience: *laughs*
james: Oh, they’ve had their guard down for too long if you ask me.
audience: *more laughter, claps and cheers*
james: They’ll all be checking their privlege on the way home now, thanks to you, you brave little cis boi!
