It would be interesting if one of Mel’s main internal conflicts while in Noxus is whether her ethics should shift from deontology to utilitarianism. internally debating if she keeps of ethics strictly to the universal principles that she believes in/upholds or if she should base her integrity to be more pragmatic & change her ethics to be more flexible to accommodate the complexities of the people she’s going to govern alongside Swain, if they do the Guile Pillar route

& with her voice lines from lol, I feel like we can already see that change. They might be a glimpse of how, little by little, Noxus is shifting her ethics to be more accepting of the brutal nature of the nation. depicting a more mature Mel, maybe a few years off from going back to Noxus, that still holds to her reformist idealistic principles at her core, but is a bit muddy with how she goes through with them, while still having those methods be the last option if negotiation fails

But then that would raise the question of whether the writers are going to have her slowly (& begrudgingly) assimilate with Noxus or if they’re going to have her oppose their customs and ideals to illustrate they are different ways to show strength: “compassion does not beget weakness” or the secret third option of a little bit of both.

if they were #real they would just tell us themselves by writing a Noxus series with Mel as the main character/protagonist…but yk 👁️👁️

Sorry in advance for a very disjointed response 

I foresee Mel’s character story as highlighting the importance of fluidity. In Ambessa’s book we see that Mel’s tactics do produce results but in Arcane her reluctance (due to trauma) to be more aggressive also has consequences. Azizi also points this out but Mel is very stubborn, just like Ambessa. She refuses to let up and she digs her heels in on her methods and choices, when challenged. The voicelines kind of show how existing in any extreme is not really attainable for her goals inside a place like Noxus.

Also overall her worldview is very idealistic. According to Ambessa, Mel see’s everyone’s compacity to do good and not their compacity to do harm, and you can see that mindset in Arcane. I think whatever Mel we get in Noxus will be a more subdued idealist. Her motion comic has her doubling down on how “compassion does not begets weakness”, so I think that she will play more with the give and take style of democracy and leadership.
