Looking for a phic...

OK hive mind, maybe you can help me out here.

I remember YEARS ago, reading a phic here on Tumblr that was a follow-up to Love Never Dies. It was called "Penance" or "Repentance" or something along those lines. Gustave was living with Erik, and he takes Meg in after she is rejected by Madame Giry.

I may be getting two phics confused, but I'm almost certain the first chapter was Meg performing lady-of-the-night-duties in an alleyway, Erik takes her to her mother's apartment and pours cold water over her because she is stinking drunk.

Does anyone know what phic I'm talking about and who wrote it?

I tried to mock up a waterfall drapery by patching together some remnants. It didn't work. I will need to learn to do it properly and can't find a good tutorial anywhere :(

Hello! Are you able to tell what type of cloak Christine's Wishing Cloak is? For example, it is a circle cloak? Or made of several pieces? Many thanks :)

I think, if laid flat, you’d get more or less a perfect circle, or an ¾ circle. The cloaks are made of several pieces, but the exact construction may vary around the world and from costume maker to costume maker.

One method is to cut triangles and sew them together with the narrow end at the top, and the wider at the bottom, like this from Domyras at Devianart:

Another option is to do less sewing and go for a straight fabric length in the main body oc the cloak, and insert triangles at the top, to make the front of the cloak. This is a more historical approach, as you don’t cut the fabric and it can be reused for other purposes if wanted. Here is a pattern I found online:

I find this construction easier to deal with, as the fabric drapes well and there’s few seams involved. BUT: it will give an interesting chevron effect if the fabric is structured or patterned. Cool if that is what you wanted. Not so cool if you wanted a specific vertical look in structure/pattern. So have that in mind. :)

And of course there is the hood as well.
