When will some people stop arguing that "Frank can't have feelings for Karen because he never got over Maria"? It's already been explained that he doesn't stay with her because of the lifestyle he chose and doesn't want to involve her. Understand this: the MCU version of Frank has two loves at different points in his life. Maria is the love of Frank's life in his role as a husband and father, Karen is the love of his life in his role as a Punisher and Vigilante. They are different loves at different times in Frank's life; neither replaces or surpasses the significance of the other in his life.

One thing I will wholeheartedly praise about SGA is the way it instantly and handily sidesteps the “vampires are inherently less scary to modern audiences because we know too much about how blood works” thing. The aging mechanic and vfx they pick for Wraith feeding make it obvious from the very first second that this is an absolute zero sum game and there’s no amount of feeding that’s “safe” or that won’t have permanent effects.

And then even when wiggle room is introduced later on with the Wraith being able to put it back it’s still just as dire morally. Any life that goes back into a person is gonna have to come out of someone else.

There is genuinely no workaround on the issue and that’s a great setup for the primary conflict. (And for the unethical medical experimentation done by the cast in efforts to create a workaround)
