[💣💥❤️🔥]In the end these emojis make a lot of sense. (Also the outfit name)
I have a lot to say about this episode. At first, I admit that I felt like a spectator of an intense drama (and I love that). But, in the final scene, I was so immersed in the dialogues that I felt the emotional charge in each phrase.
We all know that Armin is an impulsive, chaotic character, these added to the fact that Candy is furious with him, make the encounter soo tense. It's obvious that they have too many things to say and sadly (even though Candy doesn't admit it) none of them has been able to close that wound. The tension goes up and down during the episode, there are moments where they reconnect for an instant, but then they start arguing again.
At first, it may seem that both behave like kids, as if we were in a silent war to see who says the best taunts. Even Candy herself every time she says something super childish to try to hurt Armin, she instantly wonders what the hell she's doing. She has mixed thoughts about Armin and that makes her even angrier. Also, the kiss at the end makes a lot of sense to me, because the final fight gradually increases the emotional charge, and without realizing it they get closer because of that incipient need to make the other understand their feelings.
Finally, I think that the main problem in their relationship is the serious lack of communication (pretty obvious). And I have the need to defend them both (or at least understand them🥲), because there is no villain, they both make mistakes, soo first
It's unfair to put all the blame on him and it's very selfish to tell him that he must admit that, because they both have the communication issues. And yes, it was necessary to tell him such simple things as that you feel that you have been neglected or that you feel that the efforts you make are not mutual (because it's true, he can't magically read her mind). Candy accumulated all these negative thoughts until she finally exploded and decided to break up with him (which would have been solved if she just said what she felt from the beginning). In addition she doesn't hive him a chance to explain himself (so unfair).
But like I said... Candy also has a point, so
Although Armin's intentions were based on a good feeling, that does not justify the emotional abandonment he had with his girlfriend. I understand the point that he wanted to surprise her with a detail and that's why he didn't say anything, but it was NOT necessary at that moment. Think about it, they were 18 and barely had any money, the plan is too crazy to work (it's something that only Armin could come up with haha). And no, she didn't have to "be patient and wait a bit" (like Armin said), because that disinterest that she perceived doesn't have to be tolerated by anyone. And sadly, Armin's idea that he had to do an incredible detail to her because he felt he had to prove something, or like he said "show I could be good enough" just doesn't justify it, and Candy herself says it "you were already good enough!" . Armin felt that he needed to prove that he was worth enough to be with her for some reason (evidencing his insecurities) which ended up showing Candy just the opposite.
Well, I think that's all I have to say. I didn't realize how much I missed Armin until his AL announcement came out. This was such a good episode ;-; I knew it was going to be intense, but wow, I didn't expect this at all 💞🥺
