I've started planning out my 2020 calendar. Each year the calendar is about Italy but I like to change the theme so it's not the same every year. This year I've chosen Ancient Roman Italy, inspired by my visit to Pompeii. This is a painting I've started of Ponte Pietra, the Roman bridge in Verona. Part of creating products it's trying to improve them as much as you can. I've had a reprint of my house plant calendars and changed the design of this page. A few people commented on how they couldn't read what they had written as the design was quite complex. So I've added a strip of pink to make the text clearer, but you can still see the painting. I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. Last weekend I went to Stupinigi, it's a palace outside of Turin. It was built as a hunting lodge for the Savoy royal family. Apparently the Nazis used it during the second world war, so it's not in very good condition. I loved the lemon trees growing in planters around the grounds. Last night I painted a little painting of one of them. I've been in Venice for the past few days on a school trip. It's been fun, but a lot of walking around, I'm very tired now. Favourite to make Happy 1st March! I'm taking part in March meet the maker and the first day is about my favourite product to make. It is very difficult to choose my favourite product as obviously I loved making all of them. The one that comes to mind is my plant calendar, because it was a new idea and I wasn’t sure it would sell but I was making it more for me. So I had a lot of fun playing around with the design and choosing the plants that I love.
