「Desperate Measures」Darren + Maya
Before being gestured to go into the office, Maya was already feeling a bit worried and unsure of whether to accept the job or not…if they do end up hiring her. Working at a police department under a fake identity is practically suicide. Though Roman had mentioned not to worry; if she mentioned that Roman was the one that suggested her the job then they won’t check her records. Apparently the person she’s going to be interviewed by knows Roman. Still, it would be stupid to not ever check the person’s records, after all they are hiring them to work with the law.
Everyone had eyes on the female, peeking over their cubicles. Did she seems suspicious? Probably it’s because they’ve never seen her here, so it’s natural. “Go ahead, ma’am, you’re in the clear. Good luck.”, said the female clerk gesturing to head inside the office.
Maya nodded. With serious expression on her face, she stepped in. Nothing but huge piled of paper work, some were even scattered all over the desk. She then laid eyes on the male. This must be Darren Richmond; Roman had mentioned him when he suggested her to apply for this job. "Richmond, sir…", she said, slightly bowing her head.
Keeping her trench coat on, she took a seat. She held her personal files against her chest with one arm; extending her other hand from her pocket to greet the male. “Maya Anderson.”, she introduced herself.
"I hear you know Roman O’Connel?", she asked. "He’s the one that suggested that I applied to this job. He considered I was fitting for it.", she added.
Multiple miscalculations seemed to have been acknowledged by Darren in the moments subsequent to the second Maya Anderson stepped foot into his office. One was the impact of her calm, womanly allure, and the second, her unforeseen connection with O'Connell.
Roman O'Connell, who was one of the most distinguished detectives of Castelia in his tenure - one who left a legend behind in the force after having been sold down the river; having pursued a settlement of score thereafter and seemingly vanished from the human plane after successfully doing so; and above all, having been the first and last mentor to Darren Richmond himself years before the inspector had even the nerve to pursue his current position.
Well, the rest would be a story saved for a later time.
For the time being, Darren looked to be about as responsive as a concrete statue as Maya hovered before his desk and voluntarily offered her greetings to him. Admittedly, it was mainly her allurement that immobilized him for the most part, but it wasn't as if the open referral she made to her reference, Roman O'Connell, helped Darren any in taking a straight sail through his current predicament.
