Last bit on the Ghost in the Shell stuff, but again it’s really disappointing to see how… discourse brained everyone is, I’m not immune to it either of course, for some reason the human brain really likes negativity, but I wish there were more of an open discussion regarding the value of adaptations, I think it’s actually really cool and interesting to see how Ghost in the Shell has almost transcended past just being a manga in a way; maybe I’m being a bit overdramatic, but under a certain lens it’s almost become a myth in itself—changing and evolving with each retelling, I don’t think there exists a single definitive version at this point; at most the manga serves as the initial core; the starting point or sapling which all other adaptations stem from… I think honestly in a way it’s the platonic ideal of art as a concept almost, something fluid and ever changing not beholden to one firm existence. Free to be interpreted, retold, tweaked, by several parties over time…

So again basically I think you’re dumb if you’re just gonna fight for the sake of fighting.

Very deeply unfortunate how no one can be normal about the new Ghost in the Shell anime because no one can understand the individual value of each given adaptation because the internet needs everything to devolve into a “which side are you debate” meanwhile I alone (sarcasm) have ascended to the higher echelon of thought—they both have their merits, pros and cons, and deserve to exist.

But also Ghost in the Shell 2 Innocence is by far the best adaptation of the series. And I’m not hearing otherwise♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪

Ok ok I know I should ignore it all, but also it’s really funny because my Twitter feed is all people defending the ‘95 film from supposed detractors meanwhile I literally don’t think I’ve seen anyone do that; you know it’s probably just survivorship bias, but it only lends itself to the insanity algorithmic timelines subject me to. I’m literally only seeing one half of discourse everyone just looks crazy to me because I’m not even seeing the other side!
