I’m sick of all the ai generated slop on twitter trying to replicate studio ghiblis art style.
Studio Ghibli is iconic for a reason, the movies are beautiful and you can feel the care and humanity in every single frame. The art style, the animation, character, and atmosphere is all for a purpose.
Seeing so many people use generative ai to steal that style is just sad, art is something so human it’s part of our history growing alongside us since cave paintings.
Art reflects us as the creators of it, our art grows with us and changes with us.
Looking at the Studio Ghibli ai generated slop is disheartening and I really feel it reflects how some people today think about art. It’s not about the process to them, it’s not about the message or the care, it’s about the finished product. How it can be profitable, mass produced, it’s just a product.
Drawing is hard, it’s frustrating, time consuming and tiring, you get artist block and you fail over and over, but with each failure you grow, you improve even if you can’t see it. That part of the reason it makes me so sad to see how little people care.
If you want to see what you look like in the Studio Ghibli style, pick up a pencil and do it yourself.
