“it wasn’t anything personal to you,” meg explained, “i’m just saying that with the shift into such a superficial society, the average person tends to think about that sort of celebrity often if not daily.” she arched an eyebrow, “a snake ? i feel like maybe your subconscious is trying to tell you that perhaps i’m untrustworthy or conniving –– or maybe those are just the vibes i give off ?” it didn’t seem much like a question. the connotation of the word has changed greatly in recent years. “anyway, i would take offense, but if you say they’re pretty than maybe i’ll take it as a compliment.”

I didn’t mean to block you.” She apologized as sweetly as she could, though it didn’t seem as genuine as she hoped. She looked around her and quirked an eyebrow toward the girl. “What are you looking for. Or at?”

megara couldn’t care less whether the sentiment behind an apology was sincere or not –– she just chose to assume that it was insincere either way. people had a funny way of masking their true intentions so she tries not to read too much into expressed emotion. “sure,” she accepted the apology. “oh, what i’m looking at ? probably doesn’t concern you. they’re leaving soon anyway, so you can probably resume whatever game you’re playing right now without worrying about bothering me,” she looked suspiciously at the other girl.

“to see you attempt to dance like the queen herself ? that would be an entertaining sight,” she let off a shy smile at the ground before quickly wiping it off and clearing her voice. “oh, right. it’s the only thing not golden about you –– your singing voice. although if you really wanted, i’m sure you could afford lessons.”

“Whoo!” The brunette cheered a bit too loudly as she finally beat her best score on the ski ball game at the Pier. Her hands thrust up into the air in excitement for her little victory. The girl had been coming here for many years, rolling the ball up the slope, trying to defeat herself time and time again. “Finally!” She exclaimed through laughter noticing now the person beside her. An embarrassing flush of pink invading her cheekbones.

meg wasn’t at the pier to have an enjoyable time –– unlike the girl that was right next to her. rather, she was trying to run one of her many errands, but she couldn’t help but notice the other girl. “congrats,” she said smoothly, “you rolled a couple balls up a slope, true finesse. now could you watch it slightly ? i’m trying to see something else.”
