So. say you published the first half of a roughly 10k fic, and then managed to write nearly all of the rest of it, but for what ever reason you just cannot seem to get the final 2 or 3 scenes to work, and it’s been actual months and months with no end in sight…

Do you just delete the half you published? I feel so bad every time some leaves a kudos or something, but every time I try to finish the damn thing I just end up upset because i can’t make it right. Ugh. I don’t know what to do. I think I might just delete it.

Here's some cuteness between Buck and Jee-Yun from first son au, which is steadily growing by the day and has hit 40K. Who knows when it will end, certainly not me!

“Buck! Buck!”

The screech of his name is accompanied by the repetitive slap of a tiny hand against his cheek, pulling Buck out of a pleasant, hazy dream about coffee brown eyes that glint in the evening sun and strong, capable hands. The images blur around the edges and fade as Buck opens his eyes to see Jee hovering over his face.

“Buck!” she exclaims happily, her smile wide and gummy. She taps his cheek with her hand again then wrinkles her nose and laughs as she pulls her hand away. “Tickles.”

Buck groans and runs hand down his face, the beginnings of stubble scraping across his palm. He wraps a supportive arm around Jee’s back and sits up. “Hey,” he says hoarsely, smiling lazily and blinking past the thick cloud of sleep that hangs over him. “What’s my best girl doing here?”

“See you, silly,” she replies.

Bold, yellow warmth floods through him, a beautiful, overwhelming delight that is bubbly and shimmering, like spun gold has been woven into his blood. Jee’s pure happiness expands outward and wraps around him, cocooning him in something sweet and sacred. She’s always like this, and Buck treasures it more than he could ever say.

“Well, aren’t I a lucky guy?” He leans in and pulls her forward into his chest. Jee comes easily, always pleased to be given cuddles, and curls up against his heart, her tiny body perfectly swaddled in his arms.
