The notion brought a smile to her face, and the girl held her hands in front of herself as she let out a soft giggle. She did not know what she should really do. Up until now the Valentine’s date was just something cute to be done between friends, but this time Kairi could not help but feel her heart flutter.

It was not like she could say no either - she did not want to. So Kairi shyly extended one of her hands to take Sora’s. “Okay, Valentine, what should we do?” given that they had access to all the worlds, and weapons that could open any doors, there was a lot of things they could do, with a lot of places Kairi wanted to go to, too…

Hopefully Sora was more decisive than she was.

I love KH3 but I’m going to be salty about one thing:

The girls. The girls. Most of their badassary? Gone. They only serve to help the boys.

Kairi is of course a Princes of Heart and was utterly awesome in literally keeping Sora alive. If she did that and got a good fight scene I’d be happy. But no. As far as the story goes she had zero reason to have a Keyblade because even though she supposedly did all this training she is only our teammate for like what, a minute? (same with Lea losing his blade but that’s something else) If Numora was going to do that she shouldn’t have had a keyblade at all. As far as I can see, she only had one so she could be training with Lea so he could get the Xion feels. She is a plot device for both Lea and Sora. Wasn’t she supposed to be a big game changer?? Wasn’t that what Numora said??

Aqua doesn’t have much either - of course she fights to help save Terra but her badass Keyblade Master status was completely ripped away I feel? We know she’s an amazing lady especially after surviving for 10 years in the darkness and would have kept herself uncorrupt if not for Ansem SoD. She and Ven didn’t get much substantial plot wise.

Xion? Just there as a tool to hurt Lea - and prompt Roxas’ return. Though she does help reassure Sora but with the end of the game... I worry for my boy and I can already feel people hating Kairi for whatever happens to Sora but that’s another matter.

Namine doesn’t even get a line of dialogue. She deserved at least that.

I’m just. I love this series but man Numora I’m disappointed in everything you build up for your girls, only to rip it away.

“ Well…. ” she starts , putting up various dummies that had been brought to life by magic . durable and not especially threatening , the perfect sparring partners . “ Sora is very lucky sometimes , so I don’t think that diving head first into battle should be your first action . You have to gauge the situation and do what’s best accordingly . Because , when Sora’s luck runs out he’ll need a friend to lead him in the right direction . ”

She watched closely, curious about the dummies. Of course Merlin gave them drills and things but Aqua was a real Master. Kairi wanted to learn as much as she could. She smiled, and moved to check the dummies - although she would not get too close now that they were moving about. “I’m not going to let anything happen to Sora. Even if we both lose our way.” she was confident in that -- luck or not.

        She… needed to see him? The raven felt a flash of confusion at Kairi’s words. Why would she need to come and see him? He was nothing… just darkness given form. He wasn’t worth anyone’s time, like his former master said. He was nothing more than a pawn that disobeyed his master, choosing the side he was supposed to be against… He should have been destroyed with the rest of the vessels.

               “ Why… Why do you care? You have nothing to gain from helping… a thing like me. You should go back to your friends… Back to your light. Leave the darkness to die alone, like it’s meant to. “

How could she word this so he wouldn’t think it was because of her attachment to Sora that made her worried. It only gave her reason to recognize pain across his face. That was where it ended. Everything else was just... Gut wrenching. She was still processing the war, and what she herself felt.

She couldn’t help frowning at his answer. That hurt even more. No one deserved to think themselves as nothing, or of deserving of a fate of being alone and lost within the dark. Her expression stayed soft. “You’re my friend now too. I know you were made into a Darkness, but you never had a choice in that. When it mattered most you chose to help us. I’m not going to let you just disappear.”

         The sight of the girl in front of him caught Vanitas off guard, amber eyes locked with the redhead warily. Just what could she want to do with him? The war was done, so why wasn’t she with Sora and his friends? Wasn’t she something special to him?

Maybe it was because she knew how Sora looked when he was sad that she got the gut wrenching feeling all was not well with the boy. From what she understood his entire existence was filled with pain and darkness... That must have been so lonely, and scary. She couldn’t blame him for what Xehanort did to take advantage of him.

Of course, she could be wrong on the nature of their relationship and what had gone on in the recent past. Still, he showed he wanted redemption just like many others. She wanted to be able to help, even just a little.

“I wanted know if you were okay. I got this feeling and I -- needed to come see you, Vanitas.”
