meilani was … interesting and intriguing and seemed to be dangerous all at once. she seemed to be everywhere, even if they worked together, they weren’t exactly in the same department but she seemed to be everywhere. he couldn’t tear his eyes off of her when she bent over, as if she gave him that choice. he couldn’t help it. his eyes were on hers the minute she turned to hand him the papers, and he fixed everything back into his suitcase as she spoke. “thank you, i can imagine it can be.” he chuckled softly, closing his briefcase – securely this time. “thank you, by the way. for the congratulations. “jet lagged? where were you off to?” he watched her bite his finger, and his eyes flickered from her eyes to her lips then back to her eyes again, “well a friend of mine invited me out for dinner, but that’s about it.”
SHE REALLY HOPED SHE WASN’T GIVING OFF THE VIBES OF BEING STALKERISH, she wasn’t trying to scare him off. She wasn’t used to having to be always the aggressive one straight out of the bat, but Luke seemed different than the normal guy she was used to. Showing off how long she kept her manicured nails with a flex of her digits, she smiled with her mouth closed and nodded. “It’s the only thing that’s a bitch, people give long nails a bad rep but it has a lot of benefits.” Watching his body with darted eyes as he moved, she nodded a few times over. “Yeah, London for a few days for a few brands.” An idea popped in her head but she wasn’t quite sure what his style was. “Dinner? I think you deserve a little bit more than that.” Raising her brows, she went to take his wrist in her hand and tilted her head to the side. “Do you trust me?” Meilani asked in a low whisper as she hoped he’d let her guide him somewhere she had in mind.

luke was on cloud nine since the announcement of him being employee of the month for his department. it made him even happier than the promotion had. even if he didn’t have anyone to talk to about it. he couldn’t let that cloud his happiness though, so he tried to get that out of his mind and decided he’d think about the brighter side of things. he was walking towards his office, his mind occupied with sending messages from his phone when he turned the corner and his briefcase popped open. “ah, crap.” he sighed, kneeling to pick the papers that flew out after he pocketed his phone.
MEILANI HAD BEEN SO BUSY WITH MODELING FOR D&G THESE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS, that she hadn’t had the time to check back in on her current Master’s crush. Time got the best of her and when she saw him listed as employee of the month, she couldn’t help but smirk to herself. She wasn’t the least bit surprised. Looking at his photo, there was something about his facial hair that she wanted to feel against her body and she hated herself for it but loved it all at the same time. There was never any shame in her game and it was almost as if fate laid a hand when out of no where, there he appeared, dropping everything from the brief case in hand. With six inch heels and a tight dress on, she bent over purposefully with her back turned to him so he could check out her ass if he wanted to. “Nails make this kinda hard to do, but I’m happy to help as long as it scores me brownie points.” Mei let out with a light laugh before handing over what she managed to grab. Her long lashes blinked a few times over before shooting him a genuine smile and fixing her hair with her hands. “Congrats, I saw the news yesterday but was so jet lagged I didn’t get the chance to find you” The femme let him know as she bit down on her finger tip and stood closer. “You planning to celebrate?”
ghcstin:
sebastian often worked late, it made the couple drinks after work that much better. sebastian also liked being alone, and there was something about masters after hours that gave him hyperfocusing powers to be able to get ahead on work. sebastian caught sight of someone moving out of his peripheral and felt himself jump slight before he took his headphones out of his ears. sebastian smiled at the other as he took a deep breath. “i’ve got some deadlines i would like to get ahead of, but it might be time to pack up.” he said as he stood up to stretch his legs out. “and what brings you here so late?”
NOTICING THE MAN WITH A SMILE, MEILANI WALKED BY HIS DESK SLOWLY AS HIS HEADPHONES WERE REMOVED AND SHE SHOT HIM A WINK. Focusing on her desk, she grabbed her laptop like she had set out to do and that’s why she was here in the first place, she put it away so she didn’t forget it. Again. “It’’s like ten PM,” She noted, letting the male know as she adjusted her dress before walking towards him again with her bag. “I had a fashion department dinner thing. I have a long day tomorrow in Jersey at different boutiques, seeing fall lines and taking notes so naturally of course, I forgot my laptop and had to wait til my boss finally wrapped up to come back and get it.” She stated, flashing her bag and the device inside. “Believe me, I want nothing more than to head home and get into bed.” Smirking, she let out a breath and tapped her fingers against his desk. “You could always walk me home if you want to?” The woman said with a challenging glare and her fingers playing with her hair.
brckends:
oh. interesting. luke blinked – slow — taking in the woman in front of him. was she flirting? really? didn’t she just meet him? “is that so?” luke chuckled softly, pursing his lips. “lucky you, i suppose.” luke knew a few of the night guards who probably hadn’t taken a liking to him, but that was perfectly okay with him. he didn’t take a liking to some of them either. he glanced down to where her fingers had managed to graze his own, and he drew his hand away and tugged the band from his wrists to put his hair back. “um —” luke laughed. “i work in the art department, i doubt you’d want to hang out there. we’re probably the least exciting department. nothing much ever happens over there.” which was true. “what about you?”
ONE THING THAT MEILANI WASN’T WAS SHY. SHE WAS A SUCKER FOR EYE CANDY AND A BOY WITH SOME MYSTERIOUS ASPECTS TO HIM. HER BROWS ROSE AS HER HEAD NODDED. “It’s so.” The girl replied, her tongue settling on her bottom lip for a moment or two. “What can I say, I have a way with words and my eyes.” Blinking hers a few times over and showing her long lashes were something you just couldn’t say no to. It was clear he was a little reserved, it was easy to feel and realize as he wasn’t even used to being touched gently let alone looked at like she was doing. “Why would you say that? We could always make something fun happen, I could think of a few ideas.” Mei said with a smirk before using her neck to toss her hair back and set it in place. She noticed a strand still nearby her eye and moved it herself before focusing back onto him. Her arms crossed underneath her breast in her dress as she popped her hip a little bit with her words. “Fashion. I’m a model, have been for years. Want to learn the industry from the inside out.” She told Luke with a grin and sparkle in her gaze.
harleycxrdells:
Harley was admittedly a little shook by the way the girl was popping off on the employee, who quite honestly looked like he was going to shit himself. But, Harley was pretty empathetic and understanding– or at least he attempted to be– so he wasn’t about to back down. Especially if he could diffuse this woman’s attitude and possibly make the Starbuck’s employees day a little easier. “Hey, no one’s saying you’re a damsel in distress. The card reader is probably broken, but I have cash,” He explained, ready to help out. She looked incredibly annoyed, but once the girl looked over at him again, he pulled cash out of his wallet. “Don’t you worry, I’m not trying to make a move on you, just wanted to help out.” He assured her– though, she was pretty, he normally did all his flirting at bars. And definitely not when people were popping off at baristas– time and place for everything. He gave the employee his own order, and used cash to pay for both of their drinks. “So,” He started, walking with her to the counter where you pick up the drinks after he’d finished paying. “Masters is right around the corner, I’m assuming you work there too?”
HUFFING WITH EMPHASIS SO MOST OF THE WORKERS AND THOSE BEHIND COULD HEAR HER ANNOYANCE AND THAT SHE WASN’T LETTING UP ON HER FOOT ON THE PETAL, she finally took a step to the side to let Harley pay. “Thank you.” The girl said with a nod of her head, her expression a little blank but never the less she did mean the words she was stating. It had been a long day in Jersey and she was lacking caffeine, so that mixed with her normal behavior and attitude made for a bad combo. “If I thought you were trying to make a move, I would have punched you already, so believe me. I know.” Mei let out as she played with the ends of her hair and waited while watching the baristas made her drink so that they didn’t spit in it or anything. Not that she would blame them. Her body was barely classified as human at this point since she was like ten minutes away from crumbling without fuel. “I do. Fashions department, I’m a model but also want to learn the industry on the inside too. So starting as an intern and hoping to work my way up soon.” Mei said, licking over her pink lips as she leaned against the counter to keep herself up. “You?” She questioned, wondering what his area of expertise might be. Usually she would try and guess in her head, but was so sleep deprived and needed a boost so was more than grateful and wasted not even a second to sip in all her espresso shots as quickly as possible as she waited for him to answer.
gcdly:
oh , when were the interns in the fashion department going to learn that athena was not the one to compete with ? she was above them in every sense of the word , so knocking them down a few pegs was always entertainment for her. “ listen. ” athena started , stepping away from her project & moving so that she was standing directly in the other’s face. “ you see , i don’t rush my work. i don’t leave the building until i am satisfied with my work. everything i stitch , sew , hem & put together has to be up to par before i step foot outside of this building. a bare minimum bitch like you who can only snag a job as an intern clearly shouldn’t fix their lips to talk about skill or work ethic. you don’t even have a real job , sweetie. you do coffee runs , answer phone calls & hold measuring tape. so , yes. i am above you. my skills are on a level that you cannot reach. your little attempt to undermine them was very cute though. ” athena’s lips formed a devious smile as she took another step towards the intern.
if she thought this lecture was going to change how she was going to treat her , she thought wrong. athena could give a rat’s ass about what anyone had to say about her skills because she knew they were immaculate. there was a reason she got hired straight away. “ you wanna talk about tearing women down ? ” athena smoothed down her silk valentino blouse as she gathered exactly what she was going to say. this girl couldn’t have been the least bit serious. athena couldn’t even muster up enough strength to laugh at the other because that’s how ridiculous she was being. instead , she brought her hands together directly in the brunette’s face & gave her a good round of applause.
“ that was hilarious. ” she halted her clapping as her facial expression darkened. “ not only are you fucking lacking in the intelligence department , you are also a hypocrite. you spent a good ( 5 ) minutes trying to decode & rip apart whether or not my skills are what they are. what the fuck do you call that ? trying to tear me down , you idiotic twat. instead of trying to be some fucking peggy kornegger , worry about which intern in the next wave is going to take your spot. because fucking with me is like asking for a problem that you damn sure do not want. ” athena sized the other up as her dark brown eyes look her up & down in distaste. “ don’t fucking try me. ”
MEILANI WAS PASSIONATE. SHE WAS CONSTANTLY PUTTING UP A FIGHT AND STANDING HER GROUND. IT WAS PROBABLY A WEAKNESS, ESPECIALLY WHEN WORKING IN THIS BUSINESS, BUT SHE COULDN’T HELP IT. Her eyes were already rolling by the time Athena was telling her to listen, because Mei never did. Orders weren’t really her thing and it sucked as an intern to have to take any. She quickly crossed her arms of her chest and tilted her head, nodding along until she tried to challenge her about her position. “I’ve been modeling since I could walk in heels, so do you research before making outlandish statements that don’t hold any weight.” The brunette began, swallowing in attempt to not chew this girl out too hard because she seemed to be the type that would tell her boss on her. “I also am being sent to do more than just a coffee run tomorrow, if you didn’t hear my background get’s me more than you would like to know or admit to. I have boutiques and fashion creators to meet with, designs to see and a day packed with judging fall looks that are locally based and taking notes along with photos for the department to look at.”
Seeing the woman step closer, she kept her own grin, thinking that the woman would feel just a little bit salty for assuming she didn’t know what she was doing. Meilani would never personally attack what her work was or the great stitching, hemming and presentation, but don’t bark at a dog and not expect it to bite back. “Seems to be your specialty, so please, go a head.” Mei said, taking a step back and motioning her hand to give her the floor though she was continuing to get close in what she guessed was an intimidation tactic? It might have worked on others, but she was a Diaz and came from a long line of thick skinned, cold blooded, stand their ground women.
“There’s a difference.” Meilani quickly corrected her, lips pickered as she nodded along as Athena needed to use disses to make a point. “Idiotic twat. Nice one. Kind of high school if you ask me, but then again, so is your attitude.” She let out with a shake of her head and a roll of her eyes. “I challenged you once you decided you had more skills than I do. I didn’t speak on your work directly, just where and how you did it. If i would attempt or need to tear you down, I would comment on your piece, not ethic. You immediately wrote me off and needed to talk down to me, not knowing I’m more than meets the eye and more than just the title of intern.” Nodding her head with her red lips still pursed, she smirked happily. “So, next time someone approaches you about what you’re doing, don’t act like a snob. Don’t knock one woman down to feel better about yourself. I get you’re over worked and have deadlines, that you’re tired and want nothing more to go home. But that shouldn’t dictate how you treat other women in the business because we’re all in fashion for a reason.”
