Seriously, watch OFMD, you won't regret it. I watched it after Good Omens 3 came out and it healed my soul, it has become one of my favourite shows and one of my favourite examples of LGTB rep in media.

Gah I just wanted to write a nice modern AU fic where Eponine survives and redeems Javert, and is the catalyst for for Javert and Valjean to be together, and now it's a huge angtsy, dark mess that is seriously doing THINGS to my mental health. It will get to fluffy Valvert eventually, I have it mapped out, but OMFG, I am messed up.

You guys will still want it, right?

That being said, my former therapist would be so proud that some of the things she told me are showing up in this fic...

When you write a fic and it's supposed to be angsty and then you realize maybe getting in the head of a character whose most recognizable trait is that he kills himself at the end of the show is a little beyond angsty and leaning towards entire freaking bell jar level... oops.

You ever read a fic with a wonderful premise and the characters are done well and it's intriguing... but the writing itself is.... bad. And you know you can make it better, but that would be rude, so you just read on and hope it gets better.

There is one fic i am reading that I swear the author alternates between just posting their notes, types in a stream of consciousness and doesnt fix it later, or forgets how to write. Then there are chapters where it's fine. The plot is so good and the dialogue is great, but OMFG I WANT TO FIX IT SO BAD!!!! But I won't, can't, and refuse to be that person!

I am gonna pccasionally whine about it to my partner, who thinks im crazy. But I will continue on.

I wont tho. I am going to read on, comment on what's good, and preservere. And occasionally complain about it. Im 10000000% sure there is someone out there doing the same to my fics.

every time this man gets sufficiently motivated by something the sinnerman break starts playing and his eyes get a little bit wider. he probably has a weird run. victor hugo just didn’t mention it bc it’s so self-evident.

imagine you’re a generally regular person who has to talk to him. like oh yeah here comes this incredibly imposing guy with the strangest facial hair/regular hair combo you’ve seen in a hot minute with a really stony, intense expression through most of the conversation but then he laughs partway through and he suddenly looks like he’s about to eat you. this lasts about three seconds. you suspect he’s gay. just kind of an ambient feeling. if he’s in a good mood he snorts tobacco off the back of his hand mid-conversation.

He runs like if the liquid Terminator and a werewolf had a baby and he looks like the Babadook. He cuts his own bangs and he has that all gum smile. His hobby is setting himself on fire by accident

he probably literally doesn’t have a first name and doesn’t like to read because whenever he does he gets vague feelings that his entire worldview is wrong and it freaks him out

He makes really bad jokes but only during his dramatic entrances for the purposes of fighting crime. His fellow police officers are certain he is some sort of cryptid. He has a drawing of Jean Valjean on his wall that he says he uses for dart practice. Except he can’t actually bring himself to throw a dart at that pretty face.

If you catch him at night, he's probably at his windows, staring up at the stars. You can't tell if he likes them or hates them, because that would mean his facial expression would have to change and it does not.

You realize that the true meaning of LAWFUL NEUTRAL should have Javert's photo next to it, not that he'd allow a photograph to be taken, because he knows what he looks like and no one else cares, so why would he need a photo?

But he gives off the vibe of someone who, if someone could fix him *just* enough, or get him drunk, would end up running up and down the street in his shirt sleeves (because thats what he considers nudity) trailing a pride flag behind him and slurring that he NEEDS to find Valjean. Not to capture him, this time, no no no, but because twenty years is long enough to wait for a kiss and Javert is determined to end that wait TONIGHT!

I just saw Hadestown and, because of how my brain works:

Izzy & Ed & Stede: Izzy complains about how dumb Orpheus is, but cries in Ed arm's when Hades and Persephone reconcile. They have to keep shushing Stede because he keeps retelling the original myth. Ed just sits there in awe at the power of love and song.

Ted Lasso & Trent Crimm: Ted bops along with the songs and little comments "oohhh, that is a lowwww voice hes got there!" while Trent gets progressively more sad because he knows how it ends and when "Raise Our Cups" comes up, Ted takes his hand and assures him he would not have turned around if it was him and Trent.

Javert & Valjean: Javert grumbles that of course that's what happened because Orpheus broke the rules. You were told not to turn around and you did and look what happened! Valjean says he knows Javert would not have turned around and Javert replies "yes, i know how to follow rules and it wouldnt have mattered anyway, because you would have escaped already".

Aziraphale and Crowley: (in unison) That is SO not how it happened!

This is the silliest thing i think I have ever written..

As part of his therapy, Javert has been singing in his free time. He's actually good. Except now his friend Fantine (who is absolutely not a friend because Javert doesnt make friends) has pressed him into a role in the fundraiser/cabaret show she is running.

Javert HATES Phantom of the Opera and he HATES the role of Raoul and now he HATES that he owes Fantine a favor big enough that he cant back out of this.

And it turns out his scene partner is Jean Valjean, the man who changed his life for better and worse. And theyre too old for slow burn.

Cosette and Eponine have decided that Valjean and Javert HAVE to be together, much to Fantine's dismay. Rom-com shenanigans ensue!

The fact that theyre already together does not stop them in the slightest!
