i feel so fucking weird i planned a trip back to pittsburgh for me and my dad to see my aunt who's son died in police custody because they refused him medical attention and he died on a fucking jail cell floor because the cops couldn't believe that he was dying of diabetic shock and wasn't on fucking drugs. i was a toddler when my family was reeling from this and i don't know what to say to her i feel horrible and i hate all of this. his death was the first time i realized someone can be in your life and then be taken away all of a sudden for the most horrible reason what the fuck do i say to her?????

i am being so serious if you're reading this and u knew someone who died because of police please give me advice i don't know how to handle this i don't know how to talk to her im so nervous

im wayyy more of a dog person but i still love cats but i gotta say im so fucking irked by people saying the way a man feels about cats is related to how he feels about women cuz it's just a way to intellectualize the boys = dogs, girls = cats bullshit like i know why this stupid shit is happening but it comes from people i thought were smarter :(

the problem with social media (or rather, one of the problems) is that it has caused the shift of people having a naturally developed identity and personal interests happening to share bits of it online, to now people cultivating their online presence and how they want to be perceived by strangers online FIRST, and then working backwards and trying to translate that over into their real, physical lives and interests.

it doesn’t work. it will never work. for many, it doesn’t even matter if it translates into their real life because in real life they’re just scrolling on instagram 60% of the time anyways.

in my day we would call this type of person a “poser”. and in a way everyone is posing now — for a phone, for a friend to take their photo, for a 15 second video. but what do i know.
