going to keep this short a sweet:
you should vote for me because lbr, i'm really pretty chill. everyone's probably going to have a stick up their arse so, why not vote for someone who's very.... erm, lenient?
also, i don't know if this has any effect whatsoever but my parents are ron weasley and hermione granger... they helped defeat the dark lord?????
awesome runs in the family. except for you, albus.
and that's it.
i'm so postmodern i had already created an imaginary little brother before you were born but you'll do i suppose | hugo
“Ah yes, Hugo dearest, but see I was simply being nice. Up until now. You’ve had your period of freedom, now I want to know all the details. And I’m fairly sure Georgina will be able to give me a better account that you can, so,” she smirked, raising an eyebrow and so obviously teasing that if he falls for it, she’s most definitely going to laugh at him.
Really though, she desperately wanted to meet her, for more than just teasing purposes. It was sappy, but she was having a whole ‘my baby brother’s growing up’ type moment. It seemed odd that only just five years ago he was being sorted to sit among the badgers while she waved at him from the Ravenclaw table. (And in truth she had always felt that teensy bit jealous of him for getting sorted there. Hufflepuffs were generally sweet and accepting, while many Ravenclaws… less so. Tied up in studies and books and while she hated to generalize, she was sure that Hufflepuff house has a nicer atmosphere, even if she was better suited to the Ravens.)
“Just fine? No escapades with Grawp or subjecting Roxy to more of your horrible mainstream music?” she nudged him with her elbow, amused at the fact that, for once, things were just fine. Normally for Weasleys, it was all action and all drama and she couldn’t help but feel like it must be the calm before the storm, or something like that.
And just as he mentioned it, she realised that the only sustenance she had had all day was the coffee that had been in the mug, still in her hands. Food… would be delicious. Even if she only ever ate a fraction of what her brother ate. “Of course you ate all the cookies in a week. Of course. Come on then, let’s go fooding. And after, you’re free to have some of mine. Payment of sorts for lending me the tshirt with the triple triangle on it?”
"You've got a deal," he said, extending his arms towards her. "Although, lending wouldn't be the right word for it." Cookies in exchange for his shirt sounds like a good deal to him. Food in exchange for anything was good enough for him. He was a simple person who found pleasure in simple things.
Details. Details were details - too detailed, in his opinion; not vague enough; disallowing for any sort of divergence from the actual truth. Hugo supposed that for brothers and sisters he and Rose were pretty close. He knew about her (no, not condition; Hugo refused to call it a condition because it sounded so medical and medical meant hospitals and hospitals were cold and dead… Rose wasn't that) situation. But they never really talked about it and that was how their relationship was. They told each other things by not really telling each other anything.
It was different with Lily. Hugo could tell Lily anything - all the bits and the pieces, the things in between the in betweens, the grime that came with the truth. That was how he was with Lily. But not with Rose. Rose didn't like to talk too much about things and really, Hugo was fine with that. And as close as he'd like to think they were, Hugo knew that there would always be a wall between them.
"Details? Are you sure you want to know the details?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he crossed his arms across his chest. What was he going to tell her? Oh hey, my girlfriend of almost a year said she loved me and I laughed at her face. That's nice. That sounded really nice.
"Grawp is a fine half-giant, I'll have you know. And I am not subjecting Roxy to more of my horrible mainstream music. My music is not mainstream," he protested. He frowned a little, followed by a shrug. Hugo began walking towards the castle - the frown that he dawned on his face was immediately turned into a smile at the mention of food.
Well, it can't be my winning personality, now can it?
...No.
You have the second-worst personality.
Malfoy's personality and existence rests on first place. Unfortunately.
Any time. Come on, cheer up, buttercup. You're not inadequate, except at expressing your feelings, apparently. And if my face gets cut off, I give you my permission to break up with me.
How did you know I was only dating you for your face?
Hey, well, I love you.
[pauses before he scratches it out and bites his bottom lip] I lov
Thanks.
Threats of body mutilation are very lovely to wake up to on a Monday morning.
Yeah, well, validations of your inadequacies are also very lovely to wake up to on a Monday morning.
Good morning, Gillenwater.
Those feelings you have of not being good enough, let me tell you now that they are completely valid. Because you really aren't good enough, for anyone. Just thought you ought to know. ♥ Melaina
Fuck off.
Ginger! I like gingers! And you're a huffle so that's awesome as well! SO YOU SHALL BE MY VICTIM, MWAHAHAHA! Truth or dare?
Never been the actual daring type. Right-o I am a huffle! Shoot. I pick truth.

A few days ago, Roxanne Weasley told Hugo the following words, "Beans, you need to work on your pranking skills. Pops said that the Weasleys are known for their mischief and you, my friend, are lacking on that side of things." Weasley. Wealsey. Mischief. Everyone in the Weasley-Potter clan had a knack for it, and Roxanne Weasley was right. (She's always right, Hugo thought) Even his sister who was the least bit mischievous in appearance was still mischievous in her sneaky, thieving ways. And he was sure that Louis was too. That boy was hiding something, Hugo had been suspecting it ever since they were kids.
It had hit him since that conversation with a one Roxanne Weasley that there was a problem. And because there was a problem he knew that he could easily fix with a few dungbombs or tiny firecrackers in the hallways, he knew he needed a solution. But not a dung bomb, firecracker solution. Something…bigger. Sure, Hugo was a bit of a sloth when it came to doing things - but usually those things related to school work and those things were never fun. Fun was great. Mischief was always fun. The thrill. The excitement. The added mixture to that excitement. The adrenalin rush. Pure, unadulterated mindless teenage recklessness.
So, there he found himself walking in the empty corridors of the castle with a box of fireworks. How he got that box of fireworks is of course a story for another time (connections, that's all anyone needs to know, to be quite honest) and totally unrelated to the bigger picture. He walked slowly, carefully, and quietly making sure that every step he took was never as loud as - no, not a feather falling down and hitting the ground, but… like the ticking sound of a metronome. Quiet, steady.
Just exactly how a person who was sneaking things that were as good as 'illegal' in the school…
Not suspicious at all, Hugo Weasley.
He was being careful, obviously for two reasons. One, he didn't want to get caught. He knew that two weeks detention wasn't enough for the amount of fireworks he was bringing into the school. (What. He was aiming for big, so, he was going big. The more the better, Hugo reasoned out at one point… or it was something like that). Two, the contents of the box were definitely not one that should be taken with so very little discretion. It wasn't that they were very delicate and would combust at any point (that would make them bombs and not fireworks), it's just they were delicate to a point and Hugo really wasn't too sure how much that delicacy really was.
And thus, Hugo walked, and walked and in his arms rested several very dangerous and fiery devices (of which, he has yet to figure out what to do with them… that was a flaw in his plan)
Hugo is very pretty. He has hair that glistens like a chest full of uncut rubies on a dying sun’s last glimpse of the world.

Professor Mercer Loring was out to get him.
Definitely personal vendetta or something. Or maybe, Hugo Weasley figured that he can't really be that special because it was common knowledge around the school that Professor Mercer Loring was out to get everyone. Teachers included. And ghosts. Anyway, the point is that Loring definitely enjoyed torturing the students - their saddened, exasperated sighs as he announced another class assignment was music to his ears.
In the past two weeks, he's managed to assign more work that Hugo personally thought should make up for the work he is planning to assign for the rest of the year. That is, it was a lot of work. And it wasn't as though Hugo only had his (stupid) Potions class to take. No. He had Transfiguration too and Charms and Binns' sad excuse for a class called History of Magic and other classes that he didn't really feel like listing anymore - it only reminded him that he had more things to do.
Odd, really, how he found himself in the corner of the Hufflepuff common room, purposely distancing himself from any opportune moment of social interaction. He was hunched over his Potions textbook, trying figure out what the bloody hell he was actually supposed to do. He was trying, for fuck's sakes and as much as he was trying he was just as equally failing.
That was the problem with him. He's always had trouble with words - reading them, writing them, spelling them, saying them (that is, his words usually jumbled up in a right mess and it just came out like word vomit… the rambling sometimes… and then sometimes, he had no words at all). That's why he liked music so much. His confidence, comfort, and certainty lay in music - he understood music the way he can never understand words. And even more, sometimes, words were not needed in music.
Music was fine, by itself.
He groaned, shoving his book away in front of him. He was tired. And this whole thing was hopeless because he's been sitting there for hours and he still couldn't let it all sink into his head; he couldn't make himself understand. And so, he did the only thing he could manage to do at that moment and started pounding his head against the wooden desk - as though it would do any good.
You’re an idiot.
I’ll worry about myself. And you. And worry about how you’re worrying about me worrying so hows about you stop worrying? It would make me worry less and therefore give you less reason to worry. Deal?
We're related. That makes you an idiot too.
Blah blah blah blah. ...
Deal. (is totally lying but shhhhh)
Hugo? I doubt it would be anybody else.
I’ve told you before, it’s — I’m nothing worth worrying over. I love you and all, but I’m… okay.
Rosie Posie... I don't know what you're talking about. Confessions are so mainstream.
Fine. Fine. Whatever. Doesn't mean... - Doesn't mean Ican'tworryaboutyou.
