Mei was given a clean bill of health yesterday morning, which means no more crate rest! This is the face of a happy puppy after being able to go on walks again!

It’s been a week and Mei is still draining between a couple of her stitches. This has caused me so much stress that I’ve become physically ill over it. Fortunately, the vet is being very generous and has recommended that I bring Mei in every day so they can monitor the area and do what they can until it’s resolved.

I had no idea a spay would entail this much trouble; they usually don’t, even for Shar Pei standards.

Update: it appears that while Mei originally had a seroma, the site became infected which prolonged the drainage; as of now, however, everything is looking much better! No more drainage, no more bandages, no more inflammation! She still has two stitches to be removed but the vet doesn’t want to rush it considering they’re where the drainage was coming from, though it’s likely he’ll take them out tomorrow morning. He also instructed it’d be best to keep Mei crated over the weekend just in case - so hopefully by Monday she’ll be out and about with all of this behind us!

The rare Perro de Pterro, or Columbian Aerial Terrier, is a working breed of pariah type originally developed to hunt pterodactyls. It experienced a genetic bottleneck post-WW2 and went into a sharp decline, only surviving due to the efforts of Latin American breeders. Today there has been a resurgence of interest in this unique and wonderfully affable animal, and fanciers of the breed have outcrossed it with Staffordshire Bull Terriers to meet the demand for puppies that can fucken levitate without compromising bone health.

Much of this breed revival has arisen due to the ability of the Perro de Pterro to disrupt drone activity. Homeowners interested in protecting themselves from aerial surveillance or attack are increasingly demanding pure or mixed-breed “airdogs” to capture and destroy offending drones. However, if one wishes to own one of these active dogs as a companion animal, they are strongly advised to invest in an anchor.

This is Billy our spaniel and Ava our Doberman puppy. Billy is 10 years old and Ava has just turned 1! Ava is very energetic and playful and likes to sit on top of her brother when he’s napping ☺🐶💕
