#westivalexpress Day 2
Traveling on the train across Canada is like bringing a village on tour with you. There are many diverse humans here! From Canada's east coast, from San Diego, from Russia, from Serbia (via Kingston), Australia, Portugal, students, professionals, thrill-seeking grannies, we're a veritable circus on rails! Amazingly, we have a young audience here- some of the workers have been saying this is the most amount of people under 50 they've seen in a while. This makes for great late-night shenanigans! We are blessed to have this opportunity. Though sleeping through the train noise is something I thought I'd be really good at, it's taking some adjusting. As we take off from Winterpeg, we have a new crew onboard. If they are half as awesome as the Winnipeg crew we had, we'll be in good shape. See u when we have Internet again. May not be for a while- c'mon the prairies!

MELANIE BRULEE: FIRST WESTERN CANADIAN TOUR FOR “POP FOLK CABARET” SINGER — PLAYING SOLSTICE CAFÉ IN VICTORIA

With guitarist Dylan Groulx — like Brulée, he’s from Cornwall, Ontario — she’s playing dates in Victoria, Vancouver, Nanaimo and Duncan. Melanie Brulée moved to Toronto a year and a half ago after spending seven years back and forth between Byron Bay, Australia and Cornwall, Ontario. Since she moved to Toronto, she’s formed her own band, written a raft of new songs, sings with a gritty country group called the Ole Fashion, works at a Toronto music industry publicity company, and is a founding member of a hot new all-female independent collective called Ladies In Waiting.
Her original music is an unusual sassy-and-sweet bilingual mix of styles, influenced by Edith Piaf, Feist, Eartha Kitt, Martha Wainwright and Stevie Nicks.

Une interview avec Line Boily du programme "Champ Libre" chez Radio-Canada au déla de notre lancement de compilation le mois dernier pour Ladies In Waiting "Lovesick".
Melanie Brulée on Rogers TV (ch 10/510 HD) tonight (March 12) at 2:30am
As part of the Toronto Sessions, I’ll be featured tonight on Rogers TV! I’ll be performing two songs with Raphael Roter on drums and Kevin Neal on lead guitar, followed by an interview with Jonathan Knox. He’s funny. I think it’s gonna be a good one!
**NOTE: the episode was originally supposed to be aired at 10pm but has been changed to 2:30am,**
Melanie xoxo
Today, Feb 7th, listen to our shenanigans and 7 tracks from our Lovesick compilation album. It's an hour-long interview with Andy Frank, Andrea Ramolo, Cindy Doire, Sarah Burton, Kristin Sweetland and yours truly! Listen at 10am, 3pm and 9pm!
(and if you miss it, don't fret- you can listen to the archive...) See you tonight at Gate 403 with my full band!

It's gonna be a busy month! I'm so blessed to be playing alongside such talented people!
I'm especially excited to be taking part in 2 shows that include burlesque! Meow!
P.S I think I'm starting to become a conference junkie. OCFF got me hooked, the Toronto Blues Summit added to my addiction, CAPACOA left me reeling and now the mother of all: the 25th Annual Folk Alliance International Conference. Once again I'll be in a hotel room rearranging furniture and eating nothing but chips and salsa for days on end. Cuz that's how we roll.
