Meet Cairns!
Pronouns: They / Them
A resident of the kingdom that works alongside The Nesting Guide (or “Nester”, as they call them) in Aviary Village’s Workshop. Cairns is technically Nester’s assistant, but Cairns, being full of pride, sees themself as the co-owner of the workshop.
With an exceptional talent in building all sorts of things, from furniture to homes and shops across the realms as well as within the kingdom, there’s no project Cairns can’t get done - for the right price, of course.
If Cairns isn’t out on a project or at The Elders Council helping out with repairs, they’re back at their workshop, working on new furniture and decor for Luminavians to buy. Of course, Nester tends to get into arguments with Cairns over pricing items they sell, but they make it up by working on projects together.
Cairns loves nothing more than to spend time in peace and quiet working on designing new products to sell, but if there’s one thing Cairns doesn’t like, it’s children - every time they enter their shop, constantly crying out repeatedly, or “honking”, drives Cairns insane to the point that Nester has to get involved and calm Cairns down before they start throwing stuff.
One particular project Cairns wants to achieve is to create a sculpture that expresses beauty, so they keep an eye out for Luminavians that are dressed in such a way that gives them inspiration to begin their dream project.
…and they want to do it without Nester knowing.
Introducing a surprise redesign of a particular character, Cairns!
My issue I’ve grown to not like was how Cairns looked like a copy-and-paste version of The Nesting Guide. I was going for a mentor / protégé situation, but I decided to fall back on that idea entirely for 2 reasons;
1. I’m giving the outfit to Canberra - since Canberra is an inventor, the outfit would suit them better.
2. I’m making Cairns an Elders Council member, because I want more members to make the place feel like a large organization. I do plan on adding more soon, but I want to add preexisting characters that’d be better off being members.
🙂🕯️
Guess I’m a hypocrite, then 🤷🏻♂️

Pronouns: She/Her
Once a member of The Elders Council, Yirrkala was part of the research team looking into the history of red shards that The Shattered are mindlessly drawn to. Showing great interest in the study, she eventually became obsessed to the point that she would steal samples to test in privacy, which caused psychological damage over time and inevitably caused her to violently attack a colleague, leading to her immediate dismissal from the council.
Still entranced by the power of the red shard, she crafted a special mask that houses the only piece of her experiment she was able to smuggle from the Sky Kingdom. With this gem, she now believes she shares powers seen in The Void Callers.
Desperate to gain more power, she used the power of the red shards to draw in The Shattered and formed a cult of followers that obey her every command. With this ability, she hopes to gain the attention of The Void Callers - Carnarvon specifically, in hopes to become a Void Caller herself.
She’s become so obsessed and deranged that she will travel to villages on the Sky Kingdom’s outskirts and terrorize them, using her followers to cause chaos and destruction, all in means to prepare it for The Void Callers to take over.
While Yirrkala’s red shard has enough power to rival the powers of Light Stones, it’s entirely unstable and can cause random effects to take effect, either to Yirrkala’s powers, or to herself directly.
…
Pronouns: They / Them
A malevolent and sadistic spirit that hunts Luminavians and steals their light energy by a simple touch. Their piercing eyes can immobilize their victims that meet their gaze, leaving them vulnerable to attack.
Palerang once served as a Spirit Guide, but using their ability to attack new spirits caused them to be condemned and outcasted by Kosciuszko, forced to exist in the moral realm as a vengeful spirit, the scar over their eye proof of their struggle against the other Spirit Guides before being outcasted.
Driven by rage and revenge, Palerang used their ability to claim the lives of Luminavians, basically killing for sport. Despite being able to steal light energy, Palerang cannot fly, but can vanish and reappear to any location within their line of sight.
While Luminavians are fine with fire, Palerang will retreat upon sight of fire, as the flames hinder their ability to attack - a hindering curse Kosciuszko placed on them as punishment, since Luminavians can naturally utilize light via candles.
If you find yourself wandering the lands of The Sky Kingdom, and find glowing white eyes along with a sudden chill, quickly light a candle and RUN.
Meet Geelong!
Pronouns: She / Her
Known by few as “The Moonlight Goddess”, Geelong served as Imänat’s mentor when he acquired the power of The Light Stones, as she herself once utilized the power of the stones herself, only unlike her student or Bungle, she was able to master them without drawbacks, and instead claimed power beyond anyone’s imagination.
Instead of weaponizing this power, however, Geelong served to mentor those where were “chosen” to better make use of this god-like power, as she herself saw no intention to bring harm to others, and instead focused on peaceful meditation in solidarity.
Although she’s no longer around to help Imänat with his struggles helping Bungle, she still watches over him as a Spirit Guide and can grant him advice when he channels his own powers to seek her aid. She’s easier to find during nights under a full moon, where her arrival can be predicted by the account of rabbits gathering under the moonlight.
Long ago, she once crossed paths with Tasman, who found her injured after a fall that nearly killed her. After taking care of her until she recovered, she vowed to return when it was time to return the favor, but since Tasman is gone, she now hopes to find Narmel - the only problem is that she can only sense an Enlightened that’s awakened their powers, so if she cant find Narmel the easy way, perhaps there’s another Light Stone user that’s close to Narmel she could use…
Meet Nullagine!
Pronouns: She / Her
Friends of Witjira and Yulara, Nullagine is a rough-&-tough rocker always seeking the next chance to perform in front of a crowd.
Ever since she was little, Nullagine always wanted to make a band so she could use her gifted electric guitar, which is how she meet Witjira and form a bond over music.
With her energetic personality, Nullagine forms the backbone of the group with her optimistic outlook mixing with her uncontrollable enthusiasm to play music whenever.
Unlike the other two, Nullagine doesn’t like to dress elegantly or formally - she prefers to draw in attention with her music, not her appearance.
When she plays her electric guitar, she can charge up in light energy that can heal herself, or shoot electrical bolts of pure light. If she plays a solo for a while, she can build up enough energy that can unleash a powerful blast of light that behaves like an explosive.
Meet Yulara!
Pronouns: She / Her
Close friend of Witjira and Nullagine, Yulara is a shy and timid violinist who’s part of Witjira’s band.
Raised in a troubled childhood, Yulara was forced to learn the violin for her family’s ceremonies they would attend to every year, and she slowly began to despise the instrument, until she met and became fast friends with Witjira and Nullagine.
As they grew up, Yulara gained a newfound passion in playing the violin with her friends, but the trauma from her childhood made her too nervous to play her instrument without hearing music for her to join in, but when she plays, her violin gives off light energy that causes her to glow and emit light that can heal those around her.
When Yulara isn’t performing with the others, she can be found in the courtyard of The Elders Council tending to the flowers she helped plant when she became an honorary member.
Look out! Here comes Ballarat!
Pronouns: They / Them
Long ago, Ballarat once roamed the streets of the kingdom, pestering the inhabitants by using their super speed to set up elaborate traps and pranks. These “harmless” pranks eventually caused an outcry to The Elders, who exiled Ballarat until they learned to use their abilities for good, but Ballarat was too stubborn to change, and eventually became lost, which lead to them losing their light and becoming an Unlit.
The darkness then embraced them, taking interest in their special ability, and gave Ballarat a new chance at life as a Void Caller. With the power of darkness, Ballarat now has the ability to decay the ground beneath them wherever they run. The ground then becomes prime for Dark Plants to sprout, which can rapidly spread if not burned away quick enough. Stepping on the decayed ground can drain a Luminavian’s light, but the ground can recover if exposed to light long enough.
Ballarat is the only Void Caller that can technically fly without the need of stealing light, as they simply need to gather enough speed and jump, flapping their wings rapidly to stay airborne for a while.
Always wanting to prove themself as better than everyone else, Ballarat is always looking for a challenge, even if it’s against someone they stand no chance against. They’re so cocky, they’ll often start fights against the other Void Callers, just to repeatedly be put back in their place.
Here’s the redesign for Ballarat.
With the new Cloak of Darkness from the Season of Two Embers, I’m looking to give most of The Void Callers this cape.
I also changed Ballarat’s outfit so he no longer had the outfit I used for members of The Elders Council, along with his new hairstyle to show he’s more of a punk and rambunctious menace of the team. With that said, Ballarat’s pronouns are now He / They.
One last key important change is his personality: since he wears a bat mask, I thought it’d fit him perfectly to be batsh*t insane, basically a psychopath.
Meet Brisbane!
Pronouns: He / Him
A nomad who aimlessly travels across the realms, living a chill, carefree life. Brisbane is a gifted musician with a passion for learning new songs to play, and enjoys meeting travelers who also share his love in songs, but shows more interest in those who can play an instrument.
With the symbolic antlers, Brisbane is a rare example of a member of The Crown who still lives. After the organization disbanded, Brisbane decided to travel the world and see the world for the first time without being tied down to any responsibilities, but being a high ranked member gave him unique perks; an enchanted guitar that allows him to control nature when he plays a song, and a mask that lets him communicate with nearby fauna.
When he forms a harmony with other musicians, Brisbane’s abilities increase to the point that he can manipulate plants on a massive scale for any purpose he requests.
It’s important to note that even though the guitar is enchanted, it’s not indestructible, which is why Brisbane takes extra care over the precious instrument over his own wellbeing, sometimes.
Although Brisbane enjoys traveling, the only place he won’t travel to is Valley of Triumph, as he can’t tolerate the cold, but he knows another surviving member of The Crowned that’s made his home there in seclusion…
Brisbane has been needing an upgrade for a while. No more does he wear dark clothing to look like a villain / antagonist. He’s no longer a mere nomad either, but a traveling bard. He resides in a cabin in Prairie Peaks, keeping Wilpena company when they work on their map-making.
While still wanting him to keep his red rabbit mask, I wanted Brisbane to have a sense of nobility and class - giving him a nice suit and a stylish cape.
Thanks to the emblem on the cape, I’m thinking of giving it another function, like how I gave Rawlinson’s cape collar one. The emblem on Brisbane’s cape is a small ocarina, and he can play a small melody when in a pinch to control nearby plant life in case he can’t reach, is separated, or loses his enchanted guitar.
Meet Kosciuszko!
Pronouns: He / Him
A Grand Spirit Entity, Kosciuszko is known as The Father of All Spirits and a sage that resides in The Spirit Realm. When his oldest daughter, Karlamilyi, escorts a Luminavian soul to The Spirit Realm, Kosciuszko helps the soul find comfort and peace, using his wisdom to help the troubled soul rest.
This noble spirit entity is hard to find, though. So difficult, in fact, even an Enlightened can’t make direct contact with him, let alone see him; he decides when to be seen or not.
Due to his seclusion in the Spirt Realm, not much is known about him, aside of him being possibly as old as time itself, and his knowledge surpasses any living person, including Sydney.
Meet Colac!
Pronouns: He / Him
Protector of The Windpaths, Colac has cemented himself as a mighty warrior and hero that fought against the darkness when it threatened his home in the sky.
Keeping to himself at the center mountain of The Wind Paths, Colac always jeeps himself prepared for the chance of another attack of the darkness.
Despite still being in his prime for his age, Colac fears he won’t be around forever, and must find someone who will help keep the peace of the floating island. He currently has his mind on Wills, who prefers to find purpose outside of the village, and hopes deep down that Wills will find their calling and make the decision that’s best for them.
However, Rockhampton has shown great interest and desire to lead the village and be the one Colac chooses, but due to his clumsy, reckless behavior, there’s a bit of fear and doubt in Colac to believe Rockhampton has the maturity to take on such a role.
If it wasn’t apparent with the blindfold, Colac is another individual who came into contact with The Light Stones and lost his vision, just like Imänat and Bungle. Unlike Bungle, though, who’s been undergoing training to make use of his hidden potential, Colac had to learn how to use his powers on his own, and in a way, had paid off for him, granting him the ability to control wind currents, which is why The Wind Paths has its wind currents flowing up to this very day; it’s his power in effect.
Does he look familiar? That’s because he’s seen as a heroic icon to many Luminavians, including Perth, who idolizes him and inspires him to be a great warrior, even replicating his hairstyle and feather accessories. If it wasn’t for Colac, in a way, Perth might have never met the friends he has today.
Meet Mr. Gold
Pronouns: He / Him
Mr. “Sunshine” Gold is a wealthy businessman who “earned” his wealth through his mining company of harvesting Light Crystals that The Sky Kingdom uses to power their technology.
With an infamous reputation of his underhanded methods to get what he wants to add to his wealth, he also has ties to The Elders Council to help keep tabs on situations happening in his area, as his gang are efficient in tracking and deterring Dark Crabs and Dark Dragons. If his men find anything suspicious, Gold informs The Elders (for the right price.)
Secretly, given his suaveness and golden appearance, Gold believes he’s an Enlightened that never had his chance to shine like Tasman and Narmel did, but unaware of how it works, Gold thinks his wealth is all he needs to prove he can be one, despite lacking any ability or power; he’s just insanely wealthy.
That’s not to say that his presence isn’t lacking, however. Aside his charismatic charm, he can be threatening and intimidating at the drop of a hat when the moment calls for it, and it’s always jarring to those who don’t know about him, given his name “Sunshine”.
Gold often uses this to his advantage; giving individuals a sense of security and comfort - or acting like a ray of sunshine - only to pull a 180 and show his true nature in how vicious he can be.
The purpose of his wealth or what he plans to do with it is currently unknown, but the only one that might have the answer is his right hand man and most reliable bounty hunter; Djalang.
If you recall to what I mentioned about Tirari and how the mask he originally wore made him look like a villain, that’s why the mask now belongs to Mr. Gold.
Also, Mr. Gold now has a better classy outfit to suit not just his taste in style, but how rich he is.
It’s a shame that he no longer has his eye patch, but there’ll be a new character that will make use of his eye patch.
Meet Uluru!
Pronouns: He / Him
Uluru was once a high-ranked member of The Crowned, even serving beside the organization’s leader directly for decades. His duty in the organization relied upon efficient searches for The Enlightened, sending members out to retrieve them. Those found in harsh terrain and conditions would require him to venture out for them himself.
Being the largest known Luminavian, Uluru has no ability to fly, but has the strength that can only be bested by a Light Stone user. Legends of Uluru’s feats say he fought a swarm of Dark Dragons with nothing more than his bare fists, walking away with a spike that he crafted into a functional horn.
As years passed, as findings of The Enlightened dwindled, The Crowned inevitably fell apart, and Uluru left to Hermit Valley, withstanding the blizzards and rocky terrain to make a home on the mountain side in isolation. His guilt of failing the kingdom left him depressed, so he tries to keep anyone that gets too close to his home away by using his crafted horn to sound like a Dark Dragons roar.
Besides Uluru’s hulking appearance, he’s actually a gentle giant, but prefers to be alone after losing his way of life in The Crowned organization.
If someone was to best the blizzard and dangerous journey to find him, it would take some heavy persuasion to get Uluru to return, especially since there’s still an Enlightened that lives…
I was really pushing it with Uluru’s design being basically Bearhug Hermit with different horns, so he now has a large beard and shaggy hair he grew from years of isolation in the mountains.
