Little did Hau know the bruise wasn’t from the Digimon, but if questioned of its origin the young boy would just lie. However, Elio’s thoughts were a little preoccupied by the fact his tiny cat-thing wanted to fight that huge rhino! This little plant looking one was not helping anything either!

“Do you guys know we’ve never done anything like this before! Plus you guys will be crushed if you fight!” He would have said he wanted to go back home, but…honestly he really didn’t. Least not with his caretakers….

He frowned and pulled out the strange device that had caused him to pop up in this place. The boy didn’t have time to think, when a loud crash echoed around them. The trees parted to reveal…”That things back!?” To day he was scared was an understatement, his knees were literally shaking. Kitty was front and center growling at the huge beast.

“No time to fear! Let’s fight this meanie!” She said and rushed forward, scratching and shooting some type of ice things. The Digimon, Mono something, roared and stomped at Kitty who was narrowly dodging its big feet. Then it swung its tail at the plant one, knocking it away.

Elio’s eyes widened as Kitty screeched and was tossed aside. As she tried to get up, the big beast advanced on her! “Kitty!” he frantically searched for …something to fight that thing, and spotting a rock he picked it up and threw it. “Get away you asshole!”

“Hey, get back here!” Hau shouted at his partner. He started to run after it, but he froze when the larger Digimon easily sent Budmon flying with a flick of its tail. Budmon crashed into a tree and fell to the ground.

They couldn’t fight that thing, there was no way. Maybe if they could get the digivices to work, but there was no time to figure it out. Hau glanced down at the device in his hand, and looked back up when he heard Elio shout at the Digimon.

“Are you crazy!? Don’t make it mad, we gotta run!” It was too late though. Monochromon turned its attention toward Elio when the rock bounced off its horn. Hau took that chance to run to Budmon’s side, grabbing it and cradling the injured Digimon in his arms. “Elio, this way! Let’s go!”

“No! We have to fight!” Budmon insisted, struggling to jump out of Hau’s arms. Hau shook his head and kept a tight grip on his partner.

“We’ll die if we try to fight that thing!”

“Hau!” Budmon narrowed its eyes at him. “If we run Monochromon will just track us down again! We don’t have a choice. You and that other boy are Chosen Children, you’re the only ones who can help us save our world!”

“That’s…way too much pressure…” Hau responded, but he let Budmon jump out of his arms and watched as it charged toward the bigger Digimon again. “There’s no way…”

Elio was literally frozen, his outstretched arm shaking. Both from adrenaline and fear, the boy was blanking on what to do next. Monochromon was turning towards him, its eyes angry as the ground shook from the things advance. It made him wish that the other boy had spoken up about ‘running’ away. It wasn’t until the big rhino thing was almost onto him that Elio decided to try moving.  Hearing the others voice, he shook himself out of it and dashed towards the other. However, Monochromon was baring down on him and the ground was shaking from the things massive steps. 

Elio tripped, losing his balance from the quaking of the ground. Yelping, he flew forward and landed hard in the dirt. “Ahh...damn it” he whimpered.

Elio was beginning to wish that he’d never run from home...even though he honestly hated it at home, the boy was pretty sure that the chances of dying by rhino monster. Shaking he looked up and towards his Digimon partner, who had struggled to her feet. Eyes frightened cause he had no idea what to do, heart pounding from fear...but he didn’t want the other to die. “Run kitty! 

Kitty heard her tamers voice, eyes wide as the sight of Monochromon hurtling towards the two humans. No! she thought, running towards the giant digimon, the drive to protect her human was so strong. No I can’t lose him! I need...I need to save him!’ Unbeknownst to her, the will to save her human was the key...There was a a second...and a bright flash of light began to erupt from the device that was clipped to Elio’s waist, making his eyes widen. “What?...” 

The light was strong It was enough to stun Monochromon, and it gave Kitty the power..! “Salamon digivolve to!..”

“Heeeey partner! Letzzz take some new photoz yeah?”

“Hmm?” 

Elio paused mid step, since Rotom decided to fly out of his backpack and flew over to the familiar cracked wall. This was pretty common now a days, specially since he acquired the upgrades for the camera mode…but he didn’t mind. At least he wasn’t taking random photo ops of Elio anymore..Shrugging he smiled. Not like he had anything important to buy, so what would a little deter hurt?

“Alright, that doesn’t sound like a bad idea. Though I’m pretty sure we got all the photo ops here..”

Rotom didn’t listen, just buzzed excited before turning towards the crack..Rolling his eyes, but slightly amused, Elio turned on the photo option and looked through the screen…but instead, of a Pokemon in clear view he saw…what looked like a feet sticking out from a bush. Since it was only the feet, Elio couldn’t tell right off the bat who it was. Rotom buzzed in surprise. “Whoa! Zomeone Zzzleeping there?” 

I don’t think their sleeping…”I don’t know, let’s check to see if they’re alright. Make sure it wasn’t a wild Poke attack.” 

With that, Elio hopped over the wall, and misjudging the height he ended up landing a bit sloppily before sprinting over to the person. Though, after pushing back the leaves and getting a good look at the person…His eyes widened, because he knew who that was…and he looked terrible! Like he’d gotten into an encounter and things got rough. Worried, he knelt by his friends side a bit panicky. Rotom floated above looking a bit at a loss.

“Hau!” he called, gently touching his arm -mom sad not to shake an injured person-..”Hau! Can you hear me? Are you okay?”

Someone was calling his name…? Hau let out a quiet groan in response, his eyes slowly opening and then shutting again to block out the bright sunlight. It took him a moment to remember what happened, and to recognize that the voice he heard belonged to Elio.

Wait, Elio?

“Wha!?” His eyes shot open and Hau practically bolted upright before wincing in pain. He was covered in bruises and there was blood coming from a cut on his forehead, and his right arm felt like it was broken. Still, Hau seemed more concerned for Elio than himself.

“Elio!? How did you-” He stopped himself as the realization hit him. He’d been pushed through an Ultra Wormhole, this must be Elio from a different world.

Hau went quiet, his gaze shifting to the ground and one hand lifting to hold his broken arm. This wasn’t his world, the Elio he knew was gone - and so was everyone else.

“…Yeah, I’m okay,” he lied. “And you…you’re okay? Nothing weird or bad’s happened here?”

Elio was more then a little scared. How was one supposed to react when seeing their best friend look like he just got beaten by a wild Mankey!? He jumped back a little, giving Hau enough room to sit up so their heads did not collide. He gently put an arm behind Hau, helping him sit up.

He frowned, because no this was seriously not what ‘Okay’ looks like. Specially when blood and an obvious looking broken bone was involved. 

“You are not fine! and we are taking you to a doctor...and..No, nothing weird has happened?” He frowned, and looked to Rotom who was making scared buzzing noises. “But Hau were you attacked by a mad Pokemon? a Mankey? Or...something?”
