i think the answer i'd go with has to be hairstyle. i cut my own hair not too long ago and it really changed how i saw myself.

for the longest time i kept seeing styling advice that kept saying "you gotta get bangs." to this i said "SHUT UP ABOUT BANGS I DON'T NEED 'EM!!!" bc i thought there was only one kind of bangs. ended up doing kind of side-swept bangs and went "aw fuck they were right." but i don't care bc my hair is PRETTY!

since we're talking about myself, well... honestly i still feel as though i'm putting on an act, except now that i'm out to my family but not out at work (for safety reasons) i'm at a point where i'm basically living a double life.

majority of the time i still don't recognize myself when i look in the mirror. it's on those rare occasions where i'm dressed right and all cleaned up where i catch glimpses of the girl i'm imagining myself as. it catches me off guard, but those moments give me hope.

...plus i just my own boobs from time to time. that gives me some reassurance.
