But a day before the event starts, I finally finish all my Art Fight prep!! Surprise surprise, Iām actually prepared this year! All my characters now have descriptions, many have brand new ref sheets, I have an attack hitlist, and my profile is actually decorated, too! [ Dangling them around like little Miis :) Been heavily debating adding them to my Tomodachi Life island. Steve wouldāve had the blue Player 1 hand, and Glen wouldāve had the yellow Player 4 hand, had I drawn them as well in this setā- ]
[ Smile!! This piece was actually the first time I drew themā- Had to redraw Polly here after practicing drawing them a bit more. I like this version a lot more than the original. Iāve found Nil is a bit easier to draw for me?? I tend to have more trouble with Pollyās expressions, but in drawing her more, I think sheās my favorite of the two nowā- ]

In appreciation of @brightgoatās amazing My World AU, hereās some pieces with their characters Nil and Polly!! Iāve been trying to work up the nerve to post these for several weeks at this point, geez š Iāve never actually drawn bald people before, so this was a fun challenge! And Iām trying out a new style of coloring! I like the texture of it a lot, I plan on using this style some more for whatever Art Fight refs I make coming up. Let me know if you have any thoughts on it :)
I could gush about this comic for ages, and I will because this is my house (blog) and I love to yap!!
I stumbled across the series one night while just scrolling through my feed, and looking at the recommended blogs. I saw a recent post about the Nether Raiders, clicked it, and fell down such a rabbit hole, it was past 2 am by the time I finished reading. Closing the tab after reaching the most recent post felt like coming out of a a fever dream, it was so enthralling.
Their character designs are just genius, Bright does a fantastic job of interpreting Minecraftās various mobs into numerous unique characters, all just oozing with personality. They have to have at least a dozen Illager designs at this point and every single one looks different, itās miraculous, I donāt know how they do it! Their line work is always gorgeous, same with their coloring and lighting, the entire comic is a treat for the eyes. And the story, god when I said it was like falling down a rabbit hole I really meant it. Thereās no other way to describe it, I was utterly captured by the plot theyāre putting together, despite literally overheating under my heated blanket in the dead of night during that first read through. I was on the edge of my seat and not going anywhere for hours. I cannot recommend it enough!
So hereās a small tribute of various drawings of everyoneās favorite chaotic duo! May they be reunited soon, I greatly miss their shenanigans already :ā)

[And then, for the other three prompts, I ended up combining them. Arm injury is still bugging me, so I wanted to take it easy. Not to mention, these were some of the hardest prompts, and I simply didnāt have the brain power to come up with much this late in the month ^^; Hereās also the one and only out of costume Pluey I drew. All of his fun design elements are in his costume, so I very often default to having him in costume. And itās canon that he prefers it, too :) ]

Happy Juesday yet again, everyone!! Hereās the last two drawings for Jongler Jonuary! Iām quite proud of myself. Despite all the hiccups these past few weeks, this is the first drawing challenge Iāve ever finished. Iām glad it was for Jongler, this gave me the opportunity to draw the Mikes so many times, just like I wanted to :) Though I donāt think Iāll be drawing them again for a while, a new piece every day burnt me out a bit. I want to get back to my own characters, and drawing stuff for my ask blogs. They had to be put even further on the backburner for this, unfortunately. But now that this is done, Iām hoping Iāll have lots more time for my own projects!
Thank you all again for all the support this past month! I honestly donāt post here much because I tend to get nervous about showing my art nowadays, but you have all been wonderful! I read every reply and comment in the tags, and I truly appreciate and cherish all your kind words! ^^ ā¤ļø Maybe Iāll try posting some of my original stuff again, this art blog feels very under utilized. I have so much art that never sees the light of day, when I really should be curating my own little museum here :) Let me know what you think, I always love hearing your thoughts!

[Starting off this week by settling the score with Battatās owed piece! I got all the angst for this month out of my system with Mute last week, so just fun stuff this week! Battat is very excited about making a Mike snowman :) ]

[By Friday I realized that I actually hurt my arm back on Wednesday ^^; Itās been a bit sore since, and itās still bugging me nearly a week later, so unfortunately thereās less fully rendered pieces this week. Had to skip this prompt because this is the day I felt it the most.]
[Dialogue is hard sometimes. Donāt know if this makes sense but I couldnāt think of anything to really draw for. An accent???]
[Had a bit of time between classes, so I did my best to do one more rendered piece this week. The shading is very quick, but I like the colors at leastā-]
[Back to simple drawings, my original idea for these two prompts wouldāve been far too intensive and time consuming, so just some silly interactions instead!]

And my arm is sore, which makes it hard to draw :ā) I can see the finish line now, and Iām a honestly bit excited to have one less thing I need to do every day. [Still trying to figure out how Jonglerās tail works. I like drawing them with a big long snake tail, and with a shorter one for hopping around! Iām unsure how that works anatomically.]

[Based on my headcanon that Jonglerās buttons get jammed a lot, and Zappersā volume level affects their sensesā- So high volume also means high sensitivity and theyāre always yelling, low volume means low sensitivity and theyāre whispering all the time. Muted means they just canāt talk or hear or feel much of anything, so itās a bad time when that button ends up getting stuck. The boys are helping with some pressure therapy until the button unsticks itself!]

Week 2 of Jongler Jonuary!! Once again experimenting with ways to quickly do rendering, and Iām happy with those more rendered piecesā- I tend to render everything I make a bit differently, I like to play around with different techniques.
I guess let me know if you all would mind me yapping a bit about the individual pieces? I usually ramble a lot on my posts, but Iāve tried to hold back for these since theyāre a bit more public than most of my work. Week 1 got a lot of tractionā-

Forgot to post this right after the semester ended, but hereās my finished matte painting!! Finally got the chance to draw some fanart for some lovely local Shadowguys, namely Clive, Matteo, Frank and Henry! I didnāt get to do much in terms of the animation, and I had to do human versions for the sake of the assignment, but hopefully you guys like the final result!! ā¤ļø Theyāre filming a noir movie together :)

Weāre doing matte paintings for my lighting and compositing class, which is a great opportunity to draw fanart of some Shadowguys in their natural habitat :) Specifically Matteo and @acustardducklingās Clive, with a couple Reeds in there too when I could fit him inā- These are just rough composition thumbnails at the moment, Iām still deciding which one I want to fully render.

I had a potential roommate that was going to replace the one moving out who bailed last minute, and now the other friend who I got doesn't think they can afford the stupidly expensive security deposit (Not their fault at all). I genuinely have no idea what else to do, as my remaining roommate and I cannot afford to do half and half on our own.

Trying to work up the courage to actually post my art again. Iāve been weirdly anxious about posting anything I draw lately, but I thought itād be nice to show off my hard work again, at least this once.
Iāve tripped backwards into becoming a Spooky Month fan, so hereās the Hatz boys having a cozy little sleepover :) Theyāre so easy to draw, theyāve become my go-to when I want to just relax and doodle, so I sort of tried to capture that vibe.
