This is a private little rp meme & resource compilation that is open for everyone to reblog from. I put together rp prompts & headcanons for fun to unwind and when I have certain ideas. Since this is just a side-project to me, I take no requests and I will not update daily. Sometimes I also post small PSA or OOC notes for the RPC.

Speech-Bubble Headcanons

Just Asking is not Pressuring/Bothering

Listen, we need to normalize that only asking for the status of a thread is nothing to be inherently upset about? Not every partner asking for the status of a thread wants to pressure you into a reply. They're not a bother for asking, they are interested in you and their thread with you. Which is a great thing!

Also keep in mind, tumblr's notification-system is a mess. And a lot of people quietly drop threads in the RPC, so it is really nothing outlandish of a partner to ask if you saw their reply and still intend to reply it. And I can't tell you how often I had partners not replying because they didn't see my reply.

A partner waiting for your reply and asking once for a thread deserves a normal, polite response instead of being made feel like they're a bother. We need to learn to be more nice and courteous to each other again instead of operating always on bad faith and bad experiences only. You expect grace from your partners, too. So when they just ask for a thread, tell them nicely that you will reply whenever you have the time, it's not that hard.

We have enough hate going on already as it is. Maintaining more good faith and patience in our hobby-space is very important.

Beware of Scammers

I got a message the other day from a blog I assume was being hacked. They claimed to have falsely/mistakenly reported me in some lengthy sob-story and that I need to do stuff now to prevent getting banned.

They're after your account data. Don't give them anything. Just report and block those blogs and move on. They already tried that scheme on steam and discord as far as I know. Now they came here with their shit.

In my case, the blog that messaged me had no icon and no profile banner. They had a couple of images on it that were all reblogged 30-40 minutes before they messaged me and it was mostly Deltarune stuff (which is funny because my blog has nothing to do with Deltarune, so I assumed first they're a bot).

Idk how many of those clowns there are trying that move at the moment and if they all go about it differently, but the messages are more or less the same. They say hello first, and then go on about how they need to tell you something and that they mistakenly reported you.

Stay safe out there and always double-check if someone messages you for your account login, money or anything else compromising.

I posted this 3 months ago but the scammers appear to be still around.

There have been fake staff pages that directly @ random blogs. And the scammers comment now on posts to 'contact them asap'. They stopped messaging directly I think (probably because many have IMs for only mutuals or turned off entirely). But the whole 'YOU need to contact ME' approach now is even more outrageous bullshit.

Staff takes down the fake staff pages ASAP upon reports as far as I see it, but be careful with these 'please contact me' scammers. I messaged one of them to see what's up and they will post a screenshot and also immediately claim to have accidentally reported you to scare you into giving your information to a fake staff member on discord. I'm pretty sure there are still ppl getting hacked and scammed that way.

Report and block immediately when they start to claim having 'reported you by accident' and that you now 'need to contact a shady individual on discord'. I am sure they change and adjust their Modus Operandi as they go, but it's basically always about 'preventing an accident report from banning your account'. They lie and try to scare you.

Be careful out there.

Trying to understand humans

If you haven't heard, the em dash has been getting a lot of attention lately…

Because it was trained on pirated work—including freely accessible online writing (like fanfic, academic texts)—ChatGPT picked up patterns and quirks native to human writing.

Including (sigh) the em dash.

There are other victims here (RIP tapestry and delve 🫠), but the appropriation of the em dash—a punctuation mark beloved by writers everywhere—feels especially personal.

A kind of low-grade panic is ensuing. Writers who once memed their own em dash overuse—the greatest punctuation mark ever to grace the control-freak’s lexicon, frankly—are suddenly backing away to avoid accusations.

No. More. We have centuries of dash-abusing writers behind us. We will not sit quietly while AI repurposes our beloved stilted aside—or the just-one-more clarification the sentence demands—or the dramatic pause your comma could never—etc.

You don’t write like AI—AI writes like you.

Defend the em dash.
