HOW EXACTLY DID DON'S BETRAYAL/RETURN GO

IM AMAZED PPL ARE INVESTED IN THIS TY ANON!?!

IT WENT REALLY BAD. REALLY REALLY BAD. okay i mean don of course trusts and looks up to gori hardcore, especially in this AU, but he also is the type to get SUPER PUMPED AND EXCITED OVER IDEA I MEAN. HES A WINNER AND HIS HUGE ON BETTERING HIMSELF and this asshole comes to him with the promise of being better and richer and more famous and more badass than ever. THIS ASSHOLE ALSO HAPPENED TO BE THE MANAGER OF A FIGHTER WHO BEAT DON RECENTLY SO HE -HAS- TO BE GOOD RIGHT? the guy had a great reputation in the media! what could go wrong!

gori warns him that this guy is bad news hes watched him hes seen his managing style and hes noticed how quickly he cycles through fighters he knows this is a bad decision but don is too stubborn and too caught in the moment and BASICALLY JUST BEING tOO STUPID AND TOO DON TO LISTEN.

so gori leaves and don ends up regretting shit pretty soon after but since he is, once again, stubborn as hell he STICKS WITH IT to prove to gori that HEY I MADE A GOOD DECISION HAHAHA. like i said in the other post this guy doesnt train him at all he just grabs fighters when they’re at their peak and puts his name behind them and when they stop winning he drops them.

so yeah i mean this dickwad gives don all the fancy workout equipment but literally no direction or help. SO DON JUST KINDA AIMLESSLY WORKS HIMSELF TO DEATH he starts off winning matches for a while until he OF COURSE begins failing and the guy OF COURSE cuts their contract.

at that point don is left with absolutely nothing because the guy even fine-printed the money don won out of the deal. he’s absolutely miserable with nowhere to go so he buys a 1 way ticket back to chicago to hunt down gori again and come groveling back, begging him to give him a second chance. gori‘s a hardass about it but eventually he accepts and they work to get don a COMBACK FIGHT in the ring again. and THAT IS PRETTY EXCITING!!

AKJFLHAJK gay badass smooches au that could be pretty much ANY au tbh. BOXING AU IS PROBABLY LESS GAY THAN A LOT OF THE OTHERS BECAUSE theyre so focused on their work but that doesnt mean smooches aren’t shared and cuddles aren’t had, this is don we’re talking about.

THE ASSHOLE IS LITERALLY JUST SOME BOXING AFICIONADO WITH A LOT OF MONEY. i always kinda imagined him looking like some kinda rounder tex rickard ripoff. MAYBE SOMETHING LIKE THIS. he buys off fighters from other managers by offering them more fame and fortune. and since he has his name behind some of the really good fighters at the time, people usually believe him (in don’s case, one of the guys who destroyed him in a match was owned by this jackoff). but in reality, the guy just nabs a boxer who is doing well in the fights at the time and gets money for him during that winning streak, then dumps them when they stop winning. he doesn’t even work with the boxers to train them or improve them he LITERALLY just uses them and abuses them.

BOXING AU HAS LIKE NOTHING AND ITS ONLY BEEN MENTIONED LIKE TWICE can u tell us more??

firefox crashed twice with me trying to answer this i’m so mad but YES I CERTAINLY CAN AND I AM TOUCHED THAT YOU CARE TO ASK, ANON.

SO THE ONLY STUFF I REALLY POSTED WAS THINGS OF YOUNG BOXER GORI LIKE THAT AND THIS AND THATS BECAUSE THE STORY STARTS OFF WITH GORI BEING A BADASS BOXER IN HIS YOUNGER YEARS! he was a bare-knuckle boxer in russia and then later traveled to madison square garden in new york to compete in the international tournaments held there! keep in mind this is like early 1900s this is like HISTORIC BOXING because thats what i LIKE. BUT YEAH ANYWAY HE DID REALLY WELL AND HAD A SUPER GOOD CAREER up until he retired! have a bad pic of gori in this AU its the only AU where he wears circular glasses fun fact:

SO AFTER RETIRING HE continues working in the boxing market, kinda promoting it in other cities around the country. it’s not until hes well into his 50s he starts to consider training a boxer himself since i mean HE’S GREAT AT THE SPORT AND WOULD HAVE A LOT TO TEACH SOMEBODY. not to mention this is right after WWII and the boxing community is in need of some new champions since a lot of them left during the war years.

SO gori starts talent scouting in some underground bare-knuckle boxing communities in chicago and that’s when he (of course) targets DON. BECAUSE DON has the right attitude and energy and strength to do well if he just had the right direction which gori can provide. GORI APPROACHES DON ABOUT THE IDEA AND DON ACCEPTS (AND LATER FINDS OUT THAT GORI IS THE ~GRIGORI VONROSENBACH~ THE BOXER HE IDOLIZED AS A KID SO THAT WAS A KINDA BIG DEAL) and they start working to make don a CHAMPION BOXER!! HERES SOME GAY MOST OF IT IS REALLY OLD AND BAD:

SO YEAH BASICALLY THE STORY GOES ON TO COVER ALL THAT STUFF there’s a lot of ups and downs and wins and losses. at one point don even leaves gori for a different manager that he believes can take him further than gori can and it ends up being the worst decision of his life and the guy is an asshole and nearly ruins don’s career instead so that’s pretty fun. B”) BUT YEAH ITS JUST AN AU FOLLOWING GORI’S LIFE IN BOXING AND DON’S JOURNEY TO BEING THE BEST!!! IF YOU HAVE LIKE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS LET ME KNOW BUT HOPEFULLY ALL THAT BABBLING ANSWERED IT! \o/
