Toodles sat up from her bed abruptly, the contents of her nightmare jolting her awake. She clutched her dog plush tightly, her breathing fast and shallow.Ā
āIs Astro mad at meā¦?ā She whispered to herself softly. Her and the moon didnāt talk much, but when they did she felt as though he was annoyed by her presence. She wiped the sweat from her face and swung her legs over the edge of her bed, facing the door.Ā
āI donāt wanna go back to sleepā¦.maybe Rodgerās awake!ā She hopped to the floor and walked quickly to his room. The walk wasnāt long as they shared the same hallway.Ā
She approached the door, knocking softly as to not wake anyone else up.Ā
Hesitantly, she knocked again. A tad louder.
āRodger..?ā She called out his name softly.Ā
She sighed. He mustāve fallen asleep while working again. She tried the door handle, which, to her dismay, was locked.Ā
Toodles whipped around, tightening her grip on her plush.Ā
āO-oh! You scared me Yatta!ā She felt her cheeks get red as she avoided her gaze.
āWhatcha doin up so late lil buddy?ā Yatta rocked back and forth, cocking her head to the side.Ā
āI just had a bad dreamā¦ā
āWell thatās no funā¦OH! I GOT A GREAT IDEA!ā Yatta yelled excitedly. Toodles looked around nervously.
āWe can have a super duper fun SLEEPOVERRRR!ā The piƱata jumped in excitement before grabbing toodlesā hand and taking her into her room.Ā
The room was messy, covered in party decor and random acrobat costumes. Her bed was a bunch of beanbags and pillows piled together into a huge nest-like thing that covered almost half of the room. Woah, toodles thought. Sheās so coolā¦
Suddenly, she was hit with a big white pillow, spreading feathers everywhere.
Toodles shrieked in a joyful, playful way, setting her dog plush on the floor to watch as she ran to grab a pillow from yattas bed. She hurled it into the air, the pillow colliding with yattas. The two laughed and chased eachother, toodles slowly grabbing the upper hand.Ā
āYour getting too good at thisā¦it looks like Iām gonna have to use my special attack!ā
Yatta lunged forward and began to tickle toodles, sending her into a laughing frenzy.
āTHATS CHEATINGGGAHAHA!ā Toodles struggled to speak as she was brutally tickle attacked. The pair fell into the mess of beanbags and pillows, laughing hysterically.Ā
The attack worked its magic, and soon toodles was so tuckered out she was forced to surrender. Yatta jumped up in pride, sticking her fist into the air.
She looked down at toodles, who was staring at her in tired adoration. Yattas heart began to flutter, a slight blush appearing on her cheeks.Ā
āHehā¦looks like someoneās about to fall asleep.ā She crawled into the bed alongside toodles, laying on her back. Toodles sluggishly began crawling on top of her, resting her head on her chest and almost immediately falling asleep.Ā
Yattas heart skipped a beat, carefully placing her hand on the 8-balls lower back.
She is so cuteā¦ yatta thought to herself as she rubbed her back gently. The piƱata drifted off to sleep, soothed by the sound of toodlesā soft breathing and heartbeat.
