The Beatles performing live on the rooftop of the Apple Building on Savile Row in London January 30, 1969. The usual din of busy downtown London was pierced by that well known sound of two guitars, bass, drums, and Billy Preston’s fantastic keyboards as the Beatles gave their final public performance as a band. The not unexpected arrival of the local constabulary only further elevated the momentousness in the air that cold January day 54 years ago. An iconic moment in a career replete with them.

Mi mes favorito siempre fue octubre. Y no sólo porque es mi cumpleaños o porque fue mi primer beso entonces o conocí a alguien hace años aunque se fuera o porque tengo un montón de fotos mentales de momentos grandes o porque la luna es más bonita o porque los días se sienten menos solos. Octubre limpia las legañas de unos ojillos cansados de llorar un rato. Octubre oxigena los pulmones y da sueños y te hace creer en algo, da esperanza y fortaleza y templanza y dolores de tripa menos fuertes. Octubre enseña a tomar pausas entre cansancios. Octubre quita las ataduras. Octubre muestra que aunque parezca que se acerca el fin (del año o de lo que quieras) siempre vas a encontrarte con algo grande bien pronto... qué más da que no sepamos lo que dure...

Recuerdos del 8 de septiembre de 2023.

Día de cine y teatro. Después de empezar el día algo somnoliento, me llene de sentimientos con su curso: me conmoví unas cuantas veces durante un par de funciones, me emocioné muchísimo, me asusté hasta la médula (no vuelvo a ver una película de terror en el cine; no, la verdad sí es una buena experiencia), me hice la barriga un desastre entre carcajadas, chistes y la irrupción inesperada de un perrito en la obra. Llegué más tarde de lo esperado a casa, pero uno tiene que romper ciertas normas para salir de lo ordinario (¿No? Jaja). Sí, definitivamente fue un día de cine y teatro.
