robert & aaron: scenery
Not only does he have car/fire trauma, he also had a brother with Down syndrome, and a father with prostate cancer. He's so relatable.
Lost a wife, lost a child, lost his whole family, is an alcoholic, has connections so high, he's the guy the government calls when they need a job done.
Raised those good men Joe and Jamie, almost fathered Millie (are we absolutely sure he didn't?!).
He finds letters, teenagers, grown men who go only by the name Simo, spots fires no one else can apparently see.
The ladies swoon over him, the men want to be him. He can poison you, but you'll love him anyway because his heart wasn't in it, killing you that is, not really. Because if it had been, you'd absolutely, totally be dead. That rare combo of SAS agent/alcoholic/death faker that's so appealing to men and women alike.
He only wears one suit, and a red tie to signal to us all that not only does he have ocd and ptsd, he's also been to hell and back!
Oh, and he's really good at holding his breath.
What a guy. We are so, so blessed.
*Screams into the void*
like sure graham has trauma or whatever but he’s not the one that’s been losing his mind over the fires so why are we supposed to care exactly
just noticed the thumbnail of today's episode and laughed my head off.
it's not that graham's back story isn't relevant
it's that sarah sugden's death was a fundamental part of why robert is the way he is and when you're talking about literal barn fires happening on robert's farm that's a way more relevant thing to mention in episodes than someone dying in a car explosion. the material is right there for them to use. the whole point of a soap is that it's a continuous drama, that it can use its history. to not do that is utterly ridiculous
Why does Graham get to talk about his fire trauma but not Robert
to break the curse
Rating: General Audiences Relationships: Aaron Dingle/Robert Sugden, Robert Sugden & Eve Dingle, Aaron Dingle & Eve Dingle
Flipping through the pages, she falls on her other favourite one. Snow White. The illustration shows the prince giving Snow White a true love’s kiss, which wakes her from her slumber. Eve gets an idea.
Aaron is sick, but Eve figures out how to cure him.
ao3
written for the forgot my invitation event with the prompts: eve dingle, true love's kiss, and "kiss me again"
they could have really done something interesting with robert and kyle and the parallels there, but no, Daddy graham it is
How are you my lovely? 💛💛
not bad! i know it's unbritish of me to say so but i'm loving this weather
i will never understand why, when you have one of the most romantically written "i'd die if we were separated" couples and you become a fan of them because of this peak romance why some fans act like you're some sort of sex pervert for wanting them to occasionally touch or share a fond glance one a year month. you know, live up to the romantic promise we were sold?
ROBERT CRASHES AARON'S WEDDING 28-29th May, 2025
The show has no problem linking to the past.
Anthony - Gordon
Ray/Bear - Gordon
Joe being evil - because he lost his dad as a child
Belle's relationship problems, trust issues - Lachlan, Tom
Cain getting drunk and ignoring his kids - Shadrach
Ca[i]ncer - Faith, Sarah, Chas
April's ordeal with Ray - Dawn's past
Even Ross and Laurel got a casual carjacking mention.
But when there is a story of a 14 year old setting fires at Robert's farm, nothing. Andy was 14. He set a fire. It was a barn. His mum died.
It's so unreasonably bad it should be illegal. No one actually really cares that Ross stole Laurel's car over a decade ago, it's a soap, we get it, it's water under the bridge. But apparently that was deemed important enough to mention.
Maybe if I thought it would actually be brought up in due time. But it won't.
the married for 50 years energy is off the charts today !!!!!!
