Burberry x Vivienne Westwood
Two of Britain’s finest have teamed up to deliver a limited collection aimed at saving the rainforest. Starring iconic faces alongside new ones, the campaign shot by David Sims brilliantly portrays a merging of Burberry’s heritage and Westwood punk irreverence.
Focusing on raising awareness to the issue of rainforest wipeout, the collection features several prints mentioning “Cool Earth” - an organisation aimed at reducing deforestation - with some exclusive pieces from Westwood being auctioned to raise funds for its cause.
Really helpful for me.

Fun fact
Native Americans weren’t allowed US citizenship until 1924.
Let that sink in. We lived here first…for thousands of years. And less than a hundred years ago we were finally given citizenship.
We also fought in WWI despite not being US citizens.
In Arizona, natives weren’t granted the right to vote until 1948. Think how that type of neglect ties into resource colonization as infrastructure was developed within years prior.
In addition: the indigenous peoples of Canada were not recognized as Human Beings until the year 1960. Now let that shit sink in.
In the US it wasn’t until 1968 that the Indian Civil Rights Act was passed and allowed for the right to freedom of speech / assembly / press, a jury trial, the right to an attorney etc. It’s so fucking frustrating.
and it wasn’t until 1978 that we were legally allowed to practice our own religions. in a nation founded on religious freedoms, it was illegal to practice our own religions. in our own country. how fucked up is that?
Aaaand Native Americans weren’t entitled to their own languages (had no legal rights to teach them in their schools, use them in business) until the Native American Language Act of 1990.
Pocahontas’s Tribe here in Virginia only just got recognition by the government this year (2015) and they met the settlers first. Think about that shit for a moment.
^^^^^
To be honest now that I remember this new colony I mean err…country was never for us, we were just always in their way I mean what can we really expect from colonists other than them colonizing? White supremacist goverment doing what they do best, what they have always done, be shitheads and the devil in human from
Here in Washington, The Dkhw’Duw’Absh (Duwamish) are STILL not recognized. The city of Seattle is NAMED AFTER CHIEF SI’AHL. It’s the largest city in Washington State and the hub of companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Boeing and HIS PEOPLE AREN’T RECOGNIZED.
The Treaty of Point Elliott in 1855 was never honored for the Duwamish. Other regional tribes on the same treaty (not all, though) got their agreed rights for ceding their land, but not them. Despite having a treaty agreement, they still have not been able to attain recognition, yet Seattle has plenty of homages to Si’ahl and Princess Angeline. SURE LETS TAKE YOUR CHIEFS NAME AND DISENFRANCHISE YOUR PEOPLE BUT HAAAYYY HERE’S A BRONZE STATUE!
