Hello I have a really weird question I know this is not directly menhera related but it is yami kawaii related. my question is how to get the yami kawaii style on a budget I live in Europe and pastel clothes are already hard enough to find but when it comes to online stores all the items are just so fricking expensive I can’t afford so if you have any tips please let me know. The only thing I know by now and practice by now is the yami kawaii style make up.
While the season may already be over, I’d recommend checking stores within your price range during Easter, Valentines day, and other times of the year that have a notably colorful palette. Lastly you can also try second hand shopping. Whether it be thrift shopping for cute pieces or going on to J-fashion sites that have second-hand sellers in Europe I am sure you can get something.
Also I know your question WAS about pastel but don’t forget that Yami-kawaii style comes in blacks and darker colors as well.
This is a great example of a cute outfit (not 100% yami-kawaii (similar reference))with darker colors and many of items are not specially for a Yami-kawaii outfit. For example I’m sure you can find a shawl like she is using.
Hello/Hiatus?
Hello everyone. I’m sorry I didn’t say much on this and I was not really planning to do this but I went on a short hiatus from this blog just to collect myself. I was super happy when this blog started getting more attention and I love each and everyone of you. The only thing is that with all of the attention, I started to get a bit overwhelmed. Please excuse me while I slowly catch up on everything. I AM NOT LEAVING. I just thought you may want an update. <3
Thank you for all of your love.

A great budget idea if you want to get a yami-kawaii phone case!
I'm 19 and I'm often nervous about my age, especially when it comes to cute fashion, is it okay?
If you like the fashion, then wear the fashion. Especially with menhera it is more than just a style, its a way of venting and another level of self-expression. It’s fine to be nervous about wearing cute fashion at first. We all start a bit nervous but you have to remember that you don’t need someone else’s evaluation. Its your fashion in the end. <3
hello ~ a while ago, you reblogged a picture of someone who made their shoes look cute by adding little wings to them. i have no idea where to find little wings like that, could you maybe help by giving me special keywords to look for or something? (⌒_⌒;)
Hi! I found some links to some wing appliques on Aliexpress so hopefulley these will work! Good luck!

Super cute and affordable!
We usually don’t post cosplay but we really love how the clear heart backpacks were used here in a way that isn’t an itabag, you can easily DIY this. “Sickness - Death - Depression”
This is so cute!
Not to beat a dead horse but isn't Menhera Chan often depicted with blood on her face and body? Is there a reason it's considered ok to have bloody artwork and mascots but using blood in a coord is unsavory?
There is a difference between wearing vent art as print and painting fake self-harm cuts and blood onto your face, mental illness is not a costume or some trendy accessory for anyone to use as “makeup”.
Hi!! So I've been wanting to get into wearing menhera fashion and I was curious how difficult you'd rate the fashion on a scale of 1 to 10 for beginners! Thank you! ^^
Hi! So I think rating menhera as a fashion is a bit difficult to rate but I’ll explain why.
So the fashion is pretty basic and good if it’s your first fashion but it’s only “easy” to get into if you do your research. With the subject matter menhera covers you could easily offend people or wear the fashion incorrectly if you haven’t learned about motifs, a summary of it’s origin, and other stuff. Of course knowing all of the nitty-gritty dates and info is not required but it should be a thing you at least have briefed. Like with Lolita fashion you should know what the basics are and how to wear it properly. Also with all things, having worn a Harajuku/alternative fashion and ha
The easy thing about menhera though, is that the price of items and accessibility of items is more affordable and simple than other fashions. While you can’t go into a Forever21 or Target and come back out with a whole menhera coordinate, you can still get pastels and clothes for an outfit easily and with artists like CherryCheezy now having made-to-order shirts with menhera illustrations, its easier than ever before.
So I guess depending on where you fall will determine the difficulty so I’d give menhera two ratings.
No Experience in Harajuku/Alternative fashion: 6
Just do your research and you’ll be fine. <3
Experience With Harajuku/Alternative Fashion: 3.9 (4.5?)
I still don’t give it a beginner rating of 1 because I even see people with years of experience in Harajuku fashion not portraying menhera correctly or not realizing the semi-seriousness of the fashion. ;-/ But it still can be pretty easy as long as you KNOW WHAT YOU ARE WEARING!!
Hope I helped okay! <3
Hi. I've discovered menhera a few days ago and somehow it has helped me. Dealing with myself is a bit easier now cuz I don't feel bad about my meds and my scars anymore . I want to recover but still the process is long. Menhera kinda makes it all more bearable. Idk if anyone feels like this too
I’m not gonna add too many comments myself (it’s more of a statement ^-^) but you’re all welcome to reply to this and add your own stories in your own blogs.
I’ll make a hashtag so its easy to find your posts.
#MenheraHelpedMe <3
It makes me so happy to hear menhera is doing it’s job! Menhera is a style that is helpful in healing and realizing you are not as outcast from others and that there is a community of people with you and maybe going through similar issues. Thank you for sharing!
Hey so can we not put real graphic images of self-harm and gore in the menhera tag? Thanks.
Bc people on mobile can’t block tws or anything so ya know maybe have some common decency for fellow Menhera sick kids and dont tag it as Menhera when it isn’t.
Idk if it’s different for people on ios, but for android, you can block tags on mobile–you go into settings, then under filtering, you can add tags that you don’t want to see.
But I agree that actual self harm shouldn’t be tagged menhera. Be considerate, everyone.
I didn’t even know that, my apologies.
Regardless, do have some decency and respect for others people.
Ugh, people who do that are one of the biggest reasons why assholes keep assuming Menhera promotes self-harm, them and the dimwits who keep posting Menhera fashion as thinspo or do that dumb “Menhera Diet” post that’s been circulating on this site lately.
Important stuff again!
メンヘラランド 💀💕 I went to Menhera chan exhibition
So cool! I hope he holds another one soon!
an important note as a near 3,000 followers
elfgutz isn’t menhera
elfgutz make up isn’t menhera
and kind of excessive face make up that isn’t byojaku (excessive blush, mostly under the eyes) isn’t menhera
if it looks like a halloween costume? it’s highly frowned upon no matter what j-fash you are dressing in because fashion ≠ costume
it is possible to have blood in a shirt print or maybe you could even pull off a shirt print where the character has somewhat of an elfgutz look as long as it ties back to the themes of menhera. but it can’t be excessive. i really didn’t want to have to make this post in fear of being labeled a gate keeper but oh well here sorry.
Preach. I see this being confused with new comers too much. It needs to stop. This something that bothered me this is a great PSA! <3
The Menhera Community
As we translated the older sticky article of menhera.jp from 2016, which was all about the origins of Menhera, a while ago, it now is time for the recent one of 2017 which is about the community on its own.
