assuming a hypothetical world where polyamorous and gay marriage is legal in Japan, I imagine Ibara and Usu both take Nagi's family name, each for diff reasons

Ibara has no ties to the Saegusa name besides work related stuff. She is known by many as Saegusa-san, but she has no real ties to any Saegusa family, never had, never will have. But now she does have people that care and don't give up on him.

Meanwhile Usu thinks that giving up the Kurosu family name will aleviate the pain of his curse. if he gives up the name that plagued his family for centuries, than maybe he will learn to stop putting his curse as the center of his life, and start putting the people that matter to him and himself at the center of his life.
