Now that was enough to make Sora just a bit angry. How can people say that they have no reason to live. That no body wants them. Thereâs always someone in the world that wants someone around! Furrowing his brows, Sora couldnât help but retort back. âThatâs not true! You had Riku that would have wanted you. The replica you didnât take- for Namine- Namine would have wanted you too. Thatâs more than nothing! Even I wouldnât have mind to have you. The more I learn about you, the more I wish I could have found another solution. If I had know you were around, you could have been around along with all of us.â
Thereâs no doubt in his mind, that everyone else he had come to know and care for, would have accepted the replica just the same.
Now seeing Riku like this made his heart hurt. He felt sad. As if some unknown promise had been broken to see the other react this way. To see so much emotion all at once was painful. He didnât want him to feel this way. he didnât want him to feel this anger. It would be easy to just say âitâs okayâ and move on, but he couldnât. It would further upset the other if he did.Â
âRikuâŚâ No⌠he was going to stay strong. Sora just promise to not make the other worry anymore. What kind of friend would he be to have the other feel like this. Taking a deep breath, the boy place a hand on the otherâs shoulders. âYou donât have to believe what Iâm telling you. I know Iâll make it into a reality. Once I make it back home, once I find my way out of the mess Iâm in when i get out. Iâll find a way to bring you back too. It wonât be right away. Itâs going to take me some time. But Iâll make sure, I do whatever I can to bring you back. Itâs a promise.â
âI will make it back. So you can relax. Do you believe me?â
âWas I supposed to just let her fade away into nothing?!â His voice was raised now, too, âShe deserved so much more than that! She spent her existence trapped in that room, only to be cast out when she wasnât needed anymore! Namine deserved to live!â The implication was clear, of course, as he stepped closer to Sora, teeth clenched.
âAnd so did you! After everything was over, after you worked so hard, you-â He was being told to relax, but it was more than difficult for the replica to do that. His teeth still clenched, his lower lip shaking as he looked away, brow furrowed. Of course Sora was reassuring him after everything that had happened.
âSora...â He wanted to shrink away. The replica didnât deserve to be comforted like this. He was darkness, he had succumbed, and he had cleaned up his own mess.
â...Iâm holding you to that. For Riku and Kairi and Namine, and the others. Theyâll all want to see you again.â Sora was an idiot. Sora did not have the connection that the replica had to him. There were no fond memories of him - there were no memories at all. His own disappearance would be missed by few, and soon forgotten.
But someone as bright as Sora...
