This is NOT a tattoo. Meet Simon Forester. Simon's story is one of friendship, survival, and a horrifying ordeal in the woods. Last month, Simon and his beloved deer pet, Pointy, were walking through the woods when Pointy was struck down by a hunter's bullet. Pointy died almost instantly. For 3 agonizing days, Simon held Pointy tight to his chest, crying, not eating or drinking, and not wanting to give up on his dead friend. When another hunter finally came along on the third day, he had to pry cold, dead Pointy from Simon's grip. Doctors treating Simon for exposure and dehydration were at first baffled by the deer impression left on his chest. As Simon explained to Matt Lauer on this morning's Today Show, it was later determined that the mix of blood, tears, and deer saliva in combination with constant pressure, permanently stained his skin.
