I love her so much!!!
i just love all the stories about production on project hail mary. they didn't use a single green/blue screen in the whole film. they built the whole interior of the hail mary. the petrova line scene was done practically by putting infrared lights on a chicken wire cage. rocky's voice was one of the puppeteers because he did such a good job during filming that they couldn't imagine anyone else voicing him. and rocky was a practical puppet/animatronic! sandra huller picked sign of the times as her karaoke song and she asked her daughter if it was still a cool song. i just feel like there was so much love making this film and im obsessed
we need more of this.

All this!
when will a really stylistic director make a rated-r next to normal movie that's so insanely good it becomes the first musical since chicago to win best picture and everyone loves it and cries about it with me. when will someone do that
NEED!
You are welcome to think of yourself however you wish to. As long as no one's getting hurt, I don't care how you think of yourself, however wrong you are. You want to believe you're an alien, that's fine. You want to think you're a cat, have at it. You want to think you're the opposite sex, whatever.
You do not get to dictate how other people think of you, especially when how you want to be thought of goes against what people can clearly see with their own eyes.
You do not as an earthling get to have resources put into getting you to your supposed home planet, you do not as a human get to live in an enclosure at a cat sanctuary, you do not as a man get to access women's spaces.
People can choose to indulge in your delusion if they wish, but you are not entitled to have them do so, and they cannot consent on behalf of others. One woman saying it's fine for trans-identified males to use the women's facilities cannot make that decision on behalf of other women.

THIS!!!!!!!!
Chaplin met Lita MacMurray when she was 12yrs old. He got her pregnant during the filming of The Gold Rush when she was 15. He fired her from the set and tried forcing her to have an abortion. Years after covering that disgusting situation up, at the age of 54 he married Oona O’Neil, who had just turned 18.
It’s absolutely disgusting how these men use their money, fame, and influence to silence their victims. & we can only guess at the number of young girls we will never know about who have been targeted by these demons.
This whole “seperate the art from the artist” bs has kept such criminals protected from the scrutiny of law. We need to accept that art cannot cover up crimes and that in want of better art, we cannot let criminals do better crimes.
Gender nonconformity is healthy, natural, and normal. Kids expressing gender nonconformity in developmentally appropriate ways should not be medicalized, punished, or seen as inappropriate.
Gender roles are not inate
Gender roles are harmful to women and girls
Gender is a social construct utilized to systemically oppress the female sex
Sex does not dictate personality, hobbies, interests, or what childhood toys a person is drawn to, and we need to stop treating it like it does
Sexuality does not dictate personality, hobbies, interests, or what childhood toys a person is drawn to. Normalize homosexuality, don't enforce stereotypes on homosexual or non homosexual individuals.
I love women. Platonically, romantically, sexually, communally. I love women. I want to be surrounded by women all the time.
“Women are not selfish when they refuse to please others, they are not cruel if they decide to deal with their issues before anyone else’s, they’re not difficult when they stand up for themselves and they are not stupid when they decide to show kindness.”

!!! radfems are against surrogacy?
Yes, generally.
So when speaking of surrogacy, we have to look at a phenomena economists call perverse incentive. Perverse incentive is a kind of negative or unintended result of the incentive makers. For example, perverse incentive is when countries offer reduced prison sentences to inmates willing to undergo experimental trials. It creates such a strong incentive, that the disadvantaged person may agree to a risk they normally wouldn’t. Perverse incentive is the same reason we don’t allow payments for organ donation - it would create a market where desperate people take health risks to make money, or worse, create a market for harvesting organs from unwilling donors for profit.
So with surrogacy, let’s speak frankly about what it actually is: organ rental. Except it goes deeper, right? Because pregnancies carry massive health risks; from being bedridden, to experiencing labor complications, to dying during the birth. Its 9 months of your body shifting, organs reordering, diet changes, lifestyle changes, mood changes, body changes. Your body is altered, post birth. It’s an intensive, laborious process. All of that for a paycheck. But it’s a big paycheck, right? Don’t tell me that isn’t a perverse incentive.
So even if you look at all of that, even if you land on “well, it’s still a choice!”, then I’ve got more! I know we all go in with this idea that surrogacy is endearing, that it’s like the film Baby Mama with the two women romping around looking after each other, or that it’s like Kim K, where she’s put her surrogate up in luxury with every need accounted for…but that’s simply not reflective of reality.
Surrogacy has become a means of exploiting low income women in disadvantaged counties as biological resources. So while a U.S. surrogacy is going to cost $70,000, the commoditized reproductive capabilities of a poor woman in South Asia, Latin America, or Eastern Europe can cost as little as $12,000. Popular countries include Cambodia, India, Guatemala, and the Ukraine. Basically, anywhere where regulation is low. And if you think the woman is seeing even 50% of that money, you’re wrong. “Prospecting” is a common term, in which husbands, fathers, brothers, or other family or community members (including recruiters) may entice and/or coerce the women. Once chosen, most global surrogacy agencies require women to live in dormitory-style housing throughout the duration of the pregnancy. They watch what they eat, drink, do, and where they go. Nine months without autonomy. A recent study found surrogates face a higher risk for Caesarean not only because of the possibility of a multiple gestation pregnancy but in order to make the timing convenient for commissioning parents. Many women in these dormitories have many pregnancies for many different couples.
Like most markets, the consumer flocks to the cheapest option. And womens organs are rented. And women suffer.
So yes, as we do not believe womens bodies are a commodity, most radfems are opposed to surrogacy.
There’s also uncertainty around the safety of women taking drugs that keep them pregnant with children that are not genetically theirs.
surrogacy is reproductive prostitution.
It’s pretty shit for the children too.
There’s the fact that infants are traumatised by being taken from their mothers at birth. There’s a load of grown up test tube babies and surrogate babies who are angry and feel alienated from their parents, have emotional problems and lack a sense of identity. Also how does your relationship with your parents work if they want you to be a dentist, say, and you want to be a writer but they paid £100,000 for you? Would you feel guilty? Would you wonder if they resent having spent the money? If you were gestated abroad and your mother was a foreign woman, do you have any emotional attachment to her, to that country, would you look for her? Could you even find out anything about her? If you have health problems because your dad was fifty or sixty when you were born can you reasonably get angry at him? If you were born of donor sperm and selected for certain features would your parents have loved you if you hadn’t shown those features?
I know three adopted women. One found out about her birth mother and her original name at birth and seemed puzzled but unaffected. One found a sister who fobbed her off until her birth mother was dead and then told her she would never be a part of their family. And the third was adopted in a country where records weren’t well kept and she worries to this day what her medical history might be and how it might affect her daughters.
And that’s adoption, which is supposedly selfless. Now throw a ton of cash into the mix, a few countries with lax laws, a few commissioning parents who abandon unwanted baby purchases, a few other commissioning parents who are paedophiles, new reproductive technologies being invented regularly and - the key factor - a bunch of narcissists who aren’t used to ever being told “no” about anything.
It’s nobody’s right to have a baby. Nobody. I don’t care if you didn’t find love until you were fifty, or you’re a gay male couple, or you had to have a hysterectomy, or he has a low sperm count, or whatever. If you manage to get reproductive assistance great but it’s not your right, and if you don’t have a baby you won’t die. Even suggesting otherwise is just emotional blackmail and I’m sick of it.
It’s a symptom of cultural misogyny that we can’t vent about men online without men demanding reassurance and everyone tripping over themselves to come to their defense
Pornification: paying women to act in a way that pleases men, to convince you to do it for free (at great expense to you, free for any man who can see you).
The bikini design of today was introduced in 1946 by a frenchman named Louis Rèard, who created a smaller bikini based on previous designs, en vogue today. No French model would wear the skimpy design, so Rèard hired an 18 year old nude dancer from a casino to model the bikini for photos.
Rèard exploited a child to model a swimsuit grown women refused money for. Today, an entire industry of weight loss, hair removal, and plastic surgeries revolve around selling women paths to their “bikini bodies”, when women never wanted to wear bikinis in the first place!
Rèard’s design effectively objectified all women, the Wiki article about Micheline Bernadini, the child model, says “the bikini was a hit, especially with men, and Bernadini received over 50,000 fan letters.”
