The positives of ‘putting yourself out there’ are worth it. Having a great conversation with a stranger will be worth the awkwardness of starting that exact conversation. Joining a small community of people you will see regularly is worth having to get through a scary first day. Getting your dream job is worth the scariness of chasing it. Don’t pick and choose experiences based on the level of ease now, but choose them based on how you want to come out of them.
Sylvia Plath
changing every “i should have known better” to “i know better now”. i will not judge past versions of me through the lens of who i am now.
sometimes i wish i could grab my childhood self and shake them by the shoulders and say YOU'RE GOOD. YOU'RE WORTH LOVING. THERE ARE PEOPLE WHOSE LIVES ARE MADE BETTER BECAUSE OF YOU. YOU ARE NOT A BURDEN. YOU ARE NOT DAMNED. SOMEDAY YOU WILL CRY OVER SUNSETS AND POETRY MORE THAN YOUR OWN PAIN. I NEED YOU TO REMEMBER THAT YOU'RE GOOD. YOU'RE WORTH LOVING. but i can't go back in time, so i say it to myself now. because i believe there's a future version of me looking back on this moment feeling the exact same way.
I am earthy, I am icy. I have strong opinions, I’m loud sometimes, quiet others. I’m smart. I’m intuitive. I’m soulful, spiritual. Alluring, complicated, knotted. I’m a hard nut to crack. My outside aims to please. My inner vulnerability frozen over, melting over only once you’ve stuck around long enough to warm me up. I’m getting better. I shunned myself for so long. Stuffing parts of me that weren’t welcomed by someone else. Letting those parts of myself die so I could mold myself into the perfect person, all to suit someone else’s happiness over my own. We’ll fuck that, I’m letting those parts of me flow. And honestly, certain aspects of getting to know myself again have been hard. Painful. Seeing fragments of myself that i ignored for too long, which are now effecting my confidence/anxiety levels. At least it’s not too late. At least I’m trying now. At least that part of my life is now in the past. I can move forward and finally enrich my soul with true growth. My happiest times in life have been during self discovery/growth periods. Cheers to renewal of soul. Cheers to living for me. Cheers to moving up in life again. Cheers to new opportunities and new, better experiences<3
I am HAPPY. The universe works in mysterious and wondrous ways. I am so thankful and grateful
What I miss most is someone to spill my sorrows and difficulties to, that no one else cares to hear
yes, babe, you're sick and twisted, will you come back to bed- what? yes, of course you're evil and irredeemable. now can you please cuddle with me
