Kakashi has many hobbies. One of his hobbies is to design and sew clothes for his ninken pack. He's very dedicated to his craft and the annual Ninken Clothing Days have been marked in his mental calendar since way back.

The jacket design itself was decided upon after a very brief round of concept sketches (that all looked very much alike) and Kakashi hasn't seen any reason to change things up since then.

It wasn't difficult to figure out how to do sewing. The trickiest part was finding the right books before he knew what he was looking for. As soon as he did it was pretty much basic math and handling sharp objects and he was already very good at those things.

Every year Kakashi gathers the ninken to take their measurements. This is a good opportunity for a health check as well, although it's difficult to focus when all the dogs get worked up over who has grown the most since last fall and whether or not Kakashi will pick a new color this time around (Kakashi won't)

The most time consuming task is the embroidery. Kakashi briefly considered simply painting on the fabric but after just one round of testing it was clear that ink would not withstand repeated uses of his laundry jutsu. That's fine though because Kakashi doesn't mind spending time on embroidery. He enjoys it quite a lot actually. There is something both soothing and satisfying about setting up the pattern and then following it over and over and over again, producing perfect identical copies of his original artistic vision. Kakashi brews tea and does his needlework in peace while listening to the house creak in that familiar way it does when the seasons change.

When all the ninken jackets have been sewn and ironed and neatly folded it's time for the fitting. This is the best part because the dogs get very excited every year, even though the procedure never changes. Kakashi summons them one by one and takes his time to make sure he got all the measurements right and that the ninken can move freely without any chafing or discomfort. He's gotten really good since his first collection so there is rarely any need for adjustments. There is always a need for scratches and cuddles though <3

Also in canon Obito doesn't know about Sakumo's death until Kannabi bridge so he thinks Kakashi is being coddled for no reason and that’s why he reacts like that. I was gonna add more scenes and reactions of them but I chose to focus on Kakashi and Minato.

I love the dynamic between them and poor Minato is just trying to help but there's only so much he can do with a deeply traumatized genius child soldier.
