it’s funny you should ask that. marlene, as you will come to realize, is of the adaptable sort. if she feels that words will better crush the opposition, thus ensuring her victory, then she will utilize them to the best of her ability. the same can be said about her fists. she doesn’t often resort to violence to prove her point, preferring the use of her wand to a bare-knuckle brawl, but she’s also quite adept at reading a situation – because sometimes one has little choice but to protect themselves by any means necessary, and if that means she must enter a barehanded scuffle to win, then so be it. in a life and death situation, there are no wrong choices, and nothing you say or do will convince her otherwise.

in axel’s opinion, the absolute worst thing you can do is refuse to accept someone as they are. he’s never quite grasped the concept behind conformity, especially in social situations. forcing people to bury their true nature beneath the facades society has deemed appropriate for them is a new level of low he has no intention of reaching. life is hard enough without having people telling you how to act and what to like.

due to her car accident, many of chrome’s vital organs were damaged beyond repair, leaving doctors and nurses alike with the unwanted duty of informing her family of the tragic news. but upon being told of the likelihood of her death, her parents all but washed their hands of her, classing her as useless and troublesome, a burden they saw no reason or need to accept, willingly or not. so there she lay in her hospital bed for weeks, waiting for death to finally claim her, when she was suddenly visited in her dreams by a boy roughly her age. “would you like to escape from this place?” he queried, his tone neutral. “how?” she whispered, almost too afraid to dare to hope that she might have found her cure. “through illusion, of course,” he eventually replied, a hint of a knowing smirk snaking across his lips. she didn’t understand, of course, her brief spark of hope dying a swift death at his answer; however, it wasn’t until foreign energy started to flood her body, breathing life back into failing organs and creating new ones in place of the many that were damaged, that she realized what he’d done. he’d saved her from the undesirable life of a vegetable. so to answer your question, no, chrome is not in good health. most of her organs can’t and won’t function properly and require mist to maintain an active state. but she’s already long since acclimated to a body that is more illusion than real, and she finds nothing unacceptable about her new life.
